Relating to crimes, my dad's side from Bellevue Kentucky has a past to say the least. My Aunt dated a guy who stabbed a guy and then threw his friend off a bridge. My Great Grandma played piano for the mafia. My relatives at the time had the last name "Kiefer." There were 2 Kiefer families in that town, "The Kiefers" and "The Dirty Kiefers." Guess which one was mine. 40 years after moving away, we visited the town and asked a random person in a coffee shop if they ever heard of the Kiefers, and immediately they responded, "the dirty Kiefers?" that many years afterward. To top it off, my sister married one of the descendants of the Hatfields from the Hatfields and McCoys

Big fan of the Nateland podcast, have really enjoyed Aaron Weber and Bill Bates. This week after binging all 7 episodes we wanted to see more from the hosts so found some clips and realized Aaron is a great piano player...and then spent 10 minutes searching for Bill Bates clips and after an argument with my husband about it, we both came to the conclusion that he was too old to have stuff on KZbin. BUT after we checked our sources we realized that it’s Brian, not Bill. I think this podcast is hurting Brian’s career 😂

I even watch it before all my other podcasts. I’m a driver for amazon so I always listen before Bad friends, this past weekend, 2 beats one cave, and the king and the sting. Had a quick question, have y’all ever considered maybe putting bates in the back room, like he still participates but just in the back room where we can only hear him. Just a thought. And one question for bates. You said in the first episode that the male nurse asked what you did for a living and you said “I’m a comedian”. I was just wondering if any of your shows are online where we can see some of them? Anyway love you guys. See ya next week

You'd think that 7 weeks in I'd be less confused if you're sitting across from Aaron Weber or Aaron Webber. For all of those who don't watch on KZbin, we really just really need the clarification of 1 "b" or 2. Also, hoping to get doctor advice (from episode 1 or 2)... I wanted to see my doctor (who I had only seen like 3 times because my doctors keep retiring), but the scheduler says, "oh, you're doctor isn't available for like 2.5 weeks. But we have this other guy, he's available tomorrow afternoon." So I'm thinking, well why is my doc so popular that he's booking out 2.5 weeks and do I really want to see this other guy if he's so terrible that nobody wants to see him? But I was feeling pretty sick, so I went to see the guy that nobody wants to see. And he was bad. He was like reading in a book as I'm telling him my symptoms (which were pretty basic). Turns out I have Celiac disease (I'll save you googling time...it means that I'm allergic to gluten). Now I don't know what to do... do I go back to the guy nobody wants because he's the one that caught this life-changing disease I have?? Or do I go back to my "regular" guy just to ask him, "like, what's wrong man? Why couldn't you catch this thing? The guy that is revisiting his 35-year-old medical school books during my appointment figured it out."

Ok so we have been with you guys since week one and it is one of two podcast highlights of our week. The intro song is great, it makes me feel at home when it starts. These are a few things we have come to know will be true in each episode: 1. Nate will have one rant 2. Nate will answer a question by starting six different sentences...at least once 3. Brian will get insulted by Nate 4. Aaron will sincerely think he knows nothing while actually being pretty good at lots of stuff he doesn't talk about. If you guys did a heist I feel like Aaron would nonchalantly throw out ideas and then gamely be supportive as Nate hooked into them, warmed up to the theme, and rounded them out as his plans. Nate you cracked us up this week with that bit on DB Cooper. We came to this podcast because we were always searching for stand up of yours that we hadn't seen before. We have come to appreciate new sides of you by watching the show and meeting your friends. Brian thanks for all your research and organizing, you are making the dream work, we see you.

I think the event Aaron may be referring to about "balloons killing people" is the Cleveland Balloonfest of 1986. The city released about 1.5 million balloons, and it had a lot of negative consequences. One of the consequences was that two fisherman couldn't get back to shore because of all the balloons in the water. They ended up going missing, but the Coast Guard couldn't identify whether there were any bodies among all the balloons and ended up suspending the search. One of the wives of the fishermen ended up suing the organization that hosted the balloonfest. There's an episode of The Dollop podcast--episode 38--where the hosts talk about it in detail. You can read more about it here as well: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balloonfest_'86 Hope that helps! You guys are great. :)

I live in a very small town in southern Ohio and a few weeks after the whole COVID lockdown started my cousin was one of the many people just desperate to get out of the house and do something, so he grabbed a rifle and decided to go driving around back roads when he happened across an alpaca in a field and decided to shoot it in a drive by. It turned out to be a 5 year old girl's alpaca that she was gifted after surviving a battle with cancer. The local police ended up finding out who did it and he was arrested. There's a good ending to the story; the local police showed up a few days later with another alpaca for her. I know, I know, it sounds crazy. twenty years from now, someone will do a podcast about famous crimes and they'll look up the great three balloon heist that you three have pulled off. The host will read the summary, "In the year 2020, Nate Bargat...Bergahtz... why couldn't it just be Nate Smith? Geez! Someone ask Quora how to pronounce this name... okay, anyway, Aaron held the three balloons in front of all the security cameras at once - it was unprecedented. Everything went smoothly when Nate and Aaron returned to the safe house and found that Bryan had invited all the neighbors over for a house warming pizza party. One of their neighbors just happened to be an FBI agent who found them out and foiled their plans - but at least the beds were all made with perfect hospital corners and the dishes had all been cleaned."
