I am also heartbroken that WCTH writers changed the whole season story by having Elizabeth's character choose Lukas !! They basically lied to us with the script emphasis on the relationship between Elizabeth and Nathan !! As I have said before , Jack would not want his son's father to be a saloon owner with a shady past !! Elizabeth has no clue about the real Lukas when she said to him " I want you to tell me all of your feelings and fears." That was one week before she chose him !! She has had 2 seasons to learn about Nathan !! The writers destroyed the basis of the WCTH books !!

Thank you for sharing your talent with us through this video. The truth is that Nathan would have made Elizabeth better and Elizabeth too would have made Nathan better, once she would have put an end to her own self absorbed destruction. Lucas will not make Elizabeth better. She is a pretty prop to him and that is all...for a while she will excite him, until he grows tired of her newness. Additionally, Lucas does not call her out on her selfishness because he can't - he's a weakling of a man. He does not have the spine to correct her because he does not correct himself. Nathan does -- he has the spine to correct her when necessary and he also corrects himself when necessary and is not too proud to admit his shortcomings to Elizabeth --- like that time when he yelled at her in the woods/cabin. But with Lucas, Elizabeth would be allowed to continue with her false piety, unchallenged. And ironically, Elizabeth would grow resentful of Lucas acting that way even as she should be (by conventional logic) flattered by his compliments. Lucas, as his his nature, will continue on with his interest in all things worldly and ungodly. Sure, characters can change, but not overnight, if it is to be believable. Plus, Erin and Chris just don't bring the magic when they're paired together as actors. Not in the least. What an absolute disaster of a season 8.

I feel that is too harsh on Lucas and Elizabeth - I preferred Nathan obviously but I don’t think Elizabeth or Lucas are weak or spineless I really like Elizabeth as character and Lucas is a really nice man - but I feel the writers if Lucas and Elizabeth were to be endgame should have written it far differently to be fair to Lucas and to Nathan fans - they should given more of the deep conversion about grief and loss to Lucas not Nathan if Lucas and Elizabeth were endgame.

@@ElisabethVideoedits Lucas lacks the courage to correct himself and to grow as a man, at least as far as what he has portrayed thus far. I have not seen growth from him for three seasons. He likes to shelter himself in his own shroud of mystery and not be questioned, at least not questioned in the hard matters of life. And Elizabeth has absolutely been insufferable in season 8. That over the top attention from Lucas in Season 8 reached her head and transformed her into an absolute snob of a human being.

Agreed!! I'm so sick of Elizabeth! She could leave the show and I wouldn't care. Nathan , Allie and Bill are my favorite characters. Lucas just doesn't impress me at all and comes across as so fake. No real chemistry with L and E just high school flirtation. None of this made. any sense and they completely abandoned the rich story they had with N and E. I'm just not interested anymore in watching since they broke all trust with me!

I love all your comments and that will be so fun if we wrote our own story. Developing our arguments and show which kind of man L is really and help Elisabeth to see that she was or not (finally) on the good way. As the writers took some liberties, why won't we do the same?😉😁 Nathan could have a "revenge" 🤔😋😎 For me thinking my after season 8, help me to mourn of the show. I love it until season 5 after 😭😭

I hope corporate finds out just how wrong they were! A teacher and a mountie not a teacher and a gambler/saloon owner. They defrauded their largest fan base, destroyed the storyline and forsook the shows roots! Always for Mountie Nathan Grant.

It's so heart wrenching to say goodbye to them. I just "can't" and won't get behind Lucas and Elizabeth because their story is not believable based on the previous seasons and some of season 8 before the network put a stop to it. According Chris McNally's interview for Sarah"s Scoop 2 weeks ago, it was a network decision and the party line is that it would help the longevity of the show. The writer's must have poor imaginations if they can't write for a blended family. I think it' s Hallmark's fault and they went for the shock value. So sad! Your video is so touching and beautiful. I laughed when Chris said that he would like to see Lucas lose everything and have to build up again and realise money doesn't matter. Elizabeth might be in for a shock if she thinks being with Lucas is all pretty teacups!

Watching season 8 the love story was between Nathan and Elizabeth she never give a chance to Nathan to getting to know him, she never had the chemistry with Lucas like with Nathan it was so obvious and no triangle. Team Nathan 💗💗💗👍👍🎉👍🎉

Nathan is the right choice. He would be the one Jack would've given approval of. If my husband passed away, his opinion of who would be the right choice to help raise his kids would be at the front of my mind. I would've never entertained the shady gambler relationship. The writers changed Elizabeth's core values. It was bad enough losing Jack, this, ruins everything.

I've said this before, I don't think its over. My feeling is Elizabeth will wake up, realizing Lucas is a boy not a man. He tends to run away when things don't go the way he wants. He is more fun time Lucas whereas Nathan is more lifetime. It is really hard to know what TPTB will do. Can we even trust them? In my mind; I would not feel too bad if E & L moved on; meaning far, far away. I have no desire seeing them parade around in front of Nathan and to see the hurt on his face.

@@ElisabethVideoedits Cool, thank you. 😊 Fiona is one of my favourite characters and I actually like her with Mike right now cos he really seems to respect her and value her mind, the fact that he literally wants to make her a partner in his business idea makes me love him even more. Also him giving a woman an opportunity that she wouldn’t normally receive in that time period is incredible. 👏 Not to mention, he seems to really revel in her independence and boldness & it takes a strong man to do that. Personally I don’t think Lucas would match her in that same way, he’s much too reserved and seems to have more in common with Elizabeth than anyone else in town. She seems to understand him in a way nobody else does and vice versa of course. 💜

I know when calls the heart is fiction they could have had better dialogue between Nathan and Elizabeth. Just to make it short for one example when lucas and Elizabeth went to union city and following the repercussions with Nathan her answer to him was he asked ok so when he asks her for dinner she says nothing all. Now why didn't the writers let Nathan say this is why i didn't ask it goes nowhere. But no they didn't make nathan stand for himself and quit being a lame duck. He should have been stronger and make her worry about the friendship there were to many signals he wasn't the one.

That was poor writing. They left gaps that were never addressed. It's not an indication of the character and where they were going with the storyline. It's, quite honestly and bluntly, just the writers doing a lousy job.
