Dante and Nathan were two of the best in regards of being co-workers, best friends and sounding boards. I was so devastated when Nathan died. When he died, Maxie lost her husband, and Dante lost his best friend.

And in current writing Dante and Maxie don't share a single scene criminal. Dante is one of the more honorable characters on the show his vow to look after them should be portrayed on screen because he would have kept it.
