The lead singer of this was on a BBC programme back in the day. He said he started this song and was like "hey come on yall. Get up and dance" didn't realise we'd hijacked it.

I’m 24 now, first did this at one of them family disco events where there is a buffet! My mom was holding me from behind (I was about 6) and moving my arms for me! Memories man!

I saw this dance performed at some family parties in 1981 - 1982! A truly bizarre sight! I wonder why they didn't get someone to stand at the front, banging a Big Drum like they did in the Roman galley in Ben Hur, and announce "Battle Speed"! and then" Ramming Speed"!
