I can see (hear) why he took 1st place! His timing is impeccable. Not trying to be too flashy. He pays tribute to some of his inspirational enjoyable familiar riffs, but did his own thing with them and doesn't just stick with one theme. He gets a sweet and appropriate tone from that Gibson which is very pleasant to the ears in the mix. Best of all (for me) is he occasionally hits a Jimmy Page note - an unintentional wrong note because it happens when you're jamming your ass off. Am I right?
