I don’t know how, I have not been living under a rock, but somehow, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats escaped my attention. But I caught this magical performance on Austin City Limits last night ,and now I am a nwly dedicated fan. Wow. You know such lyrics only come from hard livin. I thoroughly expected sort of “mountain zydeco” sound. No. What I got instead was soulful, bluesy, cosmic western sky music. Utterly unique, and yet deeply familiar. So I read up on Nathaniel, and he has always pursued musical quality and creative integrity over fame and fortune. This is rare. It seems like, if a project isn’t pushing boundaries or soulful, he moves on. But I think long overdue recognition is now about to find Mr. Rateliff… Rare. Real. Rateliff’s music is a prayer, a folk hymn to life and survival. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was at the Album release show at The Beacon Theater in NYC... when they played this song it was a moment i'll never forget. It was an experience. The whole theater essentially hearing this for the first time, not knowing it but being blown away by how it felt like you were part of a sermon.
