thanks for taking the time to make your videos. You provide a lot of good tips from your many years of experience. One thing to mention is some people do not pay close attention to what they are doing and could start their tissue on fire when removing the wax.

It sounds like you might have been using water based Varnish. You MUST use varnish that is oil based... I usually let it dry for an hour .. again - you have to make sure that the varnish is Oil based...

Thanks from me too! I had a wonderful woman come over yesterday and we paid her to teach a group of us this method. I watched your video just to sort of encode it all in my brain before I forget! You do a couple of things differently so I thought I'd ask about it: why the vinegar? She dipped the eggs for us (we were all so into the drawing) and melting, etc. but I don't remember her mentioning vinegar. Also, she makes just one hole at the top then uses an "egg blower." Have you used one?

very informative, best I've seen yet, thanks. Could you tell me how long you're supposed to let the egg (already dyed) dry, before putting on the varnish? I varnished the last one I did too soon and it made the dye bleed and all my hard work went to waste! (I used someone elses technique for that by the way not yours)
