Topic: staccato and legato. (Chapter- Arpeggios & Block Chords) Hi sir! I have important questions for me. In which place in arpeggios (one and two and three and four and) do you hold pedal ? I know , that in blocks ( one two three four) you use pedal on place "four". (At least I guess that you use). But in arpeggio I coudn't find it out.
@nathanielschool Жыл бұрын
Hi Maria. Yes! I use the pedal at beat 4 of the bar. But with Arpeggios, usually when the Bass note changes in the Left hand, I lift the pedal! Watch this lesson on how to use the Sustain Pedal: kzbin.info/www/bejne/moWuY2mYecl0fcU

@vladimirkalichuk31882 жыл бұрын
Nice exercise. I think it would be more correct to call them voicings or shapes rather than inversions, because technically if you have the root in the bass you are always playing first inversion of that chord.
@nathanielschool2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Vladimir!
@JamesSmith-qy3eu2 жыл бұрын
That would be called 'root position'?
@kennedymutinda48062 жыл бұрын
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣dude this is ridiculous 😝😅😅😅you are so wrong..doesn't matter if you are doing the root on lower notes they are still chord inversions
@vladimirkalichuk31882 жыл бұрын
@@kennedymutinda4806 I was wrong in that it is not "first inversion" but "root position" whenever you have the root in the bass. This was correctly pointed out by James Smith above. As regards your comment - I understand your point, but no. When you talk about harmony, the inversion is determined by which note is played in the bass. If you ignore the left hand, fair enough, you can call them inversions for simplicity. But from a harmonic perspective, these are all "root position" chords and not inversions.

Hi Thanks for the reply. I understand all the inversions. What I'm after is the formula for making all chord inversions based on the I, Vi, ii, iV progression. You gave G, Em, Am, D. And F, Dm, Gmail, C. But the information in your notes doesn't explain how to form all the others.
@nathanielschool Жыл бұрын
Can you please see our playlist on Chord inversions. You should be sure to find a lesson which solves this problem - kzbin.info/aero/PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC

Thank you for this exercise. I also think that one of the most important things is to know and be able to do the chords and chords. Of course, you also have to know how to practice such things without getting bored. That's why I think it's always good that you also show how to practice it. So far I haven't found a second teacher who can explain it in such detail as you that even the dumbest person can understand. Thank you very much, God bless you.

Unfortunately, this is just another Rote exercise. It does NOT teach a student how to play different chords in one position. You just taught a static chord progression with given fingerings. I would like to see you teach someone to pull chords out of their imagination or to read a Lead Sheet and make it smooth harmonically. That would be an inversion MASTER. Good luck!
