Nation Update: New construction at Bathsheba

Some residents of Bathsheba, St Joseph, and surrounding areas say they are totally against the construction of a multimillion-dollar three-storey house in the area where the legendary Soup Bowl Surfing event is held.

It is heart wrenching Tried to get hold of the National Heritage…ofc…no answer…sent e mails..no reply… This is the direction we are going and you try to get information and they totally ignore you… That hill was knocked down…the coconut palms were slashed..they have been a landmark for the past 80 years🥵😡🥵and we just sit and watch‼‼abd money talks…they can do what they want 💰💰💵💵💰💰💵💵 This is just the beginning of the end of our island as we knew it😰😥😰

The residents are to quiet, they need to do like the saint Lucia's and Jamaicans did, if they all go there in numbers, but then again it's already been sold, it's not right at all.

How Barbados can let this happen?? I know no nation is perfect , but Barbados is one of my biggest prides.. Especially being from BATHSHEBA! Barbados hurt my heart bad with this one.. With all the spots in Bathsheba to build, this spot was allowed to be sold to the highest bidder?? That exact spot supposed to have been protected by the Coastal Zone Management Act and I don’t recall the constituents of St. Joseph being publicly notified of such development? That spot is also protected by the Planning and Development Act, so what’s really gine on here?? Although I was taken against my will to raise overseas, lol, Bathsheba has always been my pride and joy.. My foreparents have been in Bathsheba since its inception and maintained the lifestyles necessary to protect the land and sea of Barbados.. I share the surname of some of the greatest fishermen to ever come out of Bathsheba & Tent Bay.. That spot you allow to destroy was always a vital point for tourists and locals to study and experience the beautiful scenic points of East Coast.. Last I was in BIM nobody could tell me why this spot was being demolished and all now I’m seeing this madness all across media outlets.. I’m beyond pissed and heartbroken this is allowed and why the constituents of St. Joseph haven’t publicly protested against this development.. This isn’t right at all and I will make noise about it when I reach back BIM this year.. I’m coming back to BIM for good so wunna is gonna hear my mouth.. It’s not much I ever express grievance for, but this here must be Bathsheba syndrome we seein.. 💔🇧🇧

I agree with you, this should never happen and the residents are too silent, i too am living overseas and planning to relocate back home, bim is being sold a piece by piece.

@@shottax exactly .. that’s why I’m wondering if Mia dealing with Bathsheba Syndrome.. Bathsheba Syndrome is what leaders deal with when it comes to ethics and success..
