They couldn't stand to live in a communist place so they decided to flee on small fishing boats. Thats why you see so many South Vietnamese in the U.S, they loved their country so much and fleeing was better than staying. My grandpa was held in a prison of war for more than a decade and his health suffered greatly and that's why he died so early.

Luu Huu Phuoc, others like my several great grand uncles and thousands of south Vietnameses had joined Viet Minh. Later, Hồ and his commies had also joined Viet Minh to serve his own communist interests. Hồ and his commies had assassinated many Viet Minh people and Hồ took over Viet Minh and changed it to become Viet Cong. Many people left Viet Minh and went back to Quoc Gia but Luu Huu Phuoc had joined Hồ to become a commie.

맞아요. 독립운동경력을 가졌고 해외에 인맥도 든든한 남베트남에서 거의 유일한 우익이면서 정통성을 가진 인물이었는데; 실제 집권초기 부패안했을때는 치안도 좋았고 수백만명의 탈북민(?)들을 성공적으로 정착시키는등 정치를 잘했다고 합니다. 고 딘 디엠 죽고 진짜 쿠데타가 밥먹듯 일어나는 개막장 상태가 되버렸죠 ㅠㅠ 부패안했으면 조금이나마 생존할 가능성이 있었을지도 모르겠네요.
