I wish a Dachshund would win just one time... there's never been a Dachshund that won in the shows history. The hound group is AMAZING and deserves more recognition. "Trumpet was an AMAZING Bloodhound that won years ago and we must not forget the unforgettable "Uno" that took the entire show. Everyone thinks that thier dog is the best and No one is wrong 🤗

The Pomeranian was absolutely FIERCE and should have won in in my opinion. She was strutting her petite dainty legs. This sport needs to become more diverse with young and seasoned people involved. Seems very elitist.

As a former handler, I do agree with the elitist label. We are talking about dogs that might be worth as much as a hundred thousand $$ or more! Quality dogs cost many thousands of dollars and “finishing” a dog ( winning a championship) may cost several hundred thousands in entry fees, travel costs and, esp. handler costs. There are junior showman completions but the young handler must have access to a quality purebred dog to build any kind of reputation and clients!

English Toys have come a long way in the last 50 years. I remember when they were all slinking around the ring on their bellies. Dreamridge Dear Charles was the first one I remember that actually got up and trotted like a show dog, and even he had a rear that was a disaster area. But he still showed, for all he didn't have a tail on his rump resembling a fireplace poker like this one does.. Now they are much improved in movement and temperament.

You might like the powderpuff version of the Chinese Crested. Most people are familiar with the hairless version, but the powderpuff has a coat of fur all over (although it still has a longer crest on its head).
