I am proud to have come from a rich heritage and culture i was born in California but came to minnesota when i was a year old my mother is mexican-oaxcan, and my dad is Guatamalan, I also have Spaniard and French from my great great grandparents I dont know too much of my ancestors but from what I was told my great great grandfather fell in love with my great great grandmother when he was traveling from spain to france I was told it was love at first sight. My dad is from a small town in guatamala where poverty was most common the family was poor but they got by my father was one of 5 kids he was in charge of the cows on the farm as well as the bulls at the age of 18 my grandmother kicked out my father out of the house she was very strict and cold towards my dad work was very tough to get into guatamala you need to have a high school diploma to even work at a fast food place there! My father wanted a better life so he gathered whatever he had and hopped on a train called the beast the train was a cargo train that crosses all the way to california its dangerous and many people have gotten hurt or killed and sometimes caught by the border police. My dad was almost thrown off by the train he couldve lost his life until someone grabbed him unfortunately he was caught and sent back as well as 3 days in jail but he never gave up tried 2 more times the third time he made it crossed over to california got a job at dennys and thats how he met my mom! She was a waitress and he was cook he didnt knew any English when he came over here and stayed with my cousin as well as one of my uncles in a small apartment. My mom and dad dated for 5 months and got married and the rest is history I'm a proud Hispanic girl and I am proud of my dad and mom who sacrificed themselves to bring me here though I gotta say some of my family members hate my parents and some of my cousins dont talk to me but I love the ones who do and I am happy

It’s Hispanic because it includes Caribbean, North and South America, and those born of Spanish descendants from Spain, Portugal and all those others that have mixed cultures like African, Indian, and of course Europeans. We are a huge mixing pot and need to include everyone.

It’s a huge debate between those born in Latin countries and those born in countries that have Latin parents. We not considered a full authentic breed in Latin America. @@ee.es00 Actually most have Native American. From Mexico to Ecuador to Columbia to Chile to Puerto Rico to El Salvador and anywhere south of the Americas. They all have Native American, Spain and African in their blood. I have seen as high as 75% Native America DNA on Mexicans and Guatemalans. I lived in Oklahoma, and many times I couldn't tell the difference between a person from Mexico and a Native American from the U.S. That's because they're the same people but in different bordering countries. American is a continent, not a country. So anyone in the Americas are actually Americans and that includes Canada and the Caribbean islands.

I’ve graduated from a university in the United States. I’ve served my time in the army. I’m first and foremost a United States citizen. Other cultures and ethnic origins may be interesting, but for me , that past belongs to earlier generations.
