With the oldest vehicle dating back to 1875, the National Motor Museum Trust possesses a collection of around 280 vehicles including the magical flying car from Ian Fleming’s classic children’s book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on loan from EON Productions.
The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is a world-renowned attraction located in the heart of the New Forest, Hampshire, England. Established in 1952 by Edward Douglas-Scott Montagu, the 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu, the museum was originally a tribute to his father, a motoring pioneer. Initially displaying just five cars, the collection quickly grew, necessitating a move to a dedicated museum building completed in 1972. Today, the museum is home to over 280 vehicles, making it one of the finest collections of cars, motorcycles, and motoring memorabilia globally​
Visitors to the National Motor Museum can explore a vast array of exhibits, from early motor carriages to legendary Formula One cars and land speed record breakers. The museum also features a variety of themed displays, including Grand Prix Greats, which celebrates the history of Formula One, and The Motorcycle Story, showcasing the evolution of motorcycles from early motorsport to contemporary urban culture​​.
Among the notable vehicles on display are the iconic Bluebird CN7, driven by Donald Campbell, which set a world land speed record of 403.10 mph in 1964. Another standout is the Sunbeam 1000 HP, also known as "The Slug," which was the first car to exceed 200 mph, achieving a speed of 203.79 mph in 1927, driven by Sir Henry Segrave
One of the museum's most beloved exhibits is the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, used in the iconic 1968 film. This much loved vehicle is a highlight for families and film enthusiasts alike, adding a touch of cinematic magic to the museum's extensive collection

We think it's worth it, the admission allows you entry for a whole year so if you don't live too far away, you can definitely get your money's worth. The PlanIt Park kids love the outdoor play area, and they have special events throughout the year as well

You just pay for one inclusive ticket and that gives you access to everything, there are no extra charges once you are in. This ticket also acts as a free annual pass to come back as many times as you want for a whole year. Here is where it gets a bit confusing, as the first time you go, you get access to everything. If you then go again using the annual pass, according to the website, you are only allowed access to the National Motor Museum . It says you need to buy an upgraded annual pass ticket to access the other parts. However, we have never purchase an upgraded pass or been asked to and have never been stopped from going into other places, like World of Top Gear, Palace House, Little Beulieu, On Screen Cars Exhibition etc when we have come back during the year so I'm not sure that this is in force.
