I’m amazed at the lack of regard for intonation? To say that “ most people accept the fact that it’s a resonator” is ridiculous. The obvious solution is to look at this from another direction. The nut is also adjustable. Earvana has addressed this as have several other companies. Little bit of high tech in an otherwise very unique instrument,

I have one and like most owners of these, I play it with a slide fretting some notes here and there. Also mine is tuned to DADDAD. when played this way, intonation is moot.

Ok but many want to also fret the notes, so this raises an issue. Is it possible to add on to the wooden bridge to lengthen either forward or backward to get exact intonation? We’re living in a time when knowledge has increased dramatically so what’s up with National Guitars are they just too vintage they don’t want to improve a simple bridge.

Agreed and the obvious immediate solution is a compensated bridge, been in guitars for years now. Every guitar intonates differently depending on various things. Fixing the position of the disc which is apt to move while changing the strings or installing a pickups ect.. another obvious solution.
