Great video, i like to take flapjacks when I'm hiking or on long walks, the ones with chocolate on the top or mixed fruit, gives an instant energy from the chocolate, sugar and berries, and then a slow release from the oats And I also like bananas as well, they are brilliant!

Just found this guy's channel, love the content. Might still throw an orange peel on the ground, and maybe a banana peel to slow down other hikers.

On long walks I always take something with me that contains a lot of salt. It helps against extreme sweating and moisture loss. I also always have isotonic drinks in my drinking bag to prevent loss of minerals so that I can recover faster.

Surley there must be copious amounts of time to refuel during the long, tedious drives this 'challenge' involves?! Worth checking out the negative impacts of the 3 Peaks on communities and our environment and considering more sustainable alternatives

Hi Andy, yes, there is plenty of time to get food and eat whilst on the journey between mountains however, this video focuses on giving advice on what to eat whilst actually climbing the peaks - its important for people to take in calories and keep their energy up whilst actually out walking. Hope that helps.

@@monkeymountaineering1722 indeed. You need to eat before getting hungry and drinking before getting thirsty otherwise you are already to late and compromising your goal.

@@RubenStrubbe agreed and these are point we stress on the pre-start briefing. It’s surprisingly easy for people to forget to look after themselves!
