The Cooperative Alliance for Refuge Enhancement (CARE), in partnership with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Congressional Wildlife Refuge Caucus, provided a briefing for congressional staff to learn about the National Wildlife Refuge System--the world's largest network of lands and waters dedicated to wildlife conservation. Panelists shared information about the Refuge System's contributions to biodiversity and nature-based climate solutions, wildlife-dependent recreation, outdoor access, and community-driven economies, and the role Congress has in supporting Refuges around the country.
