I went to see Rembrandt's self portrait aged 63 when it was loaned to Kendal's Abbot Hall gallery in 2016. I found it so mesmerising it was all I could do to pull myself away from it.

Doubtlessly, though not a personal favorite of mine. I prefer his drawings and etchings over his paintings (Rembrandt is one of the greatest draughtsmen I've encountered).

Extremely well done. Very well organized and presented. 7 minutes well spent, but given the quality I wish it was a full hour-long program. So many questions to ask and be answered even about his self-portraits. Clothing, expression, lighting, pose: How do these compare across his self portraits, and across his portraits of others? Which used so-called Rembrandt-lighting? And which did not? How does the sequence of Rembrandt portraits compare with the sequence of Dürer portraits from (a bit more than) a century earlier? Etc.
