Oh MAN! SO nice!! My dad had one of these ‘71 Olds Ninety-Eights back in 1980-82. It was PRISTINE! In early 1981 he drove it from home in Arkansas to Tempe Arizona where he picked me up, and together we drove it out to Southern California where we spent some time in Buena Park, then up to Paradise California to pick up my mom who had been visiting her dying father, then across Nevada over to Salt Lake City and Orem Utah to visit family and friends, then headed back home to Arkansas going down through New Mexico, across the Texas panhandle, through Oklahoma into Arkansas. The whole ride made in a beautiful, shiny, powerful, COMFORTABLE ‘71 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight! A memorable trip in a memorable classic American land-yacht!

In 1979, when I was 19 years old I had a 1972 Oldsmobile-98 it was a 2 door Silver the top was black inside was black with vinyl interior seats power windows, power locks, power trunk, AM & FM Radio with 8 Track tape player Air Conditioner it had a 455 engine with 4 barrel carburetor V8, I remember when I filled it up with gas 10 dollars would give you 16-gallons now 10 dollars will give you 3 gallons these cars bring back good memories Thank You for posting.

This video brought back soch memories...My dad bought a 1970 for $ 250.00 in 1985 from a guy he knew that liked to gamble and begged him to buy the car that day cause he "had to get out of town"!! My mom got so mad it was funny, how could you buy a car that you never drove before? He said $250 bucks , how bad can it be,he said all night not calming her! I went with her to check it out later on. When we opened the doors all the interior lights came on, the quality nylon like cloth seats were perfect soft luxury! The only difference I remember was the instrument panel. When she turned the key that dashboard lit up is a beautiful iridescence silver/green and the engine was quiet. She drove it down the street...perfect! She said I better park your father's car! The next day it became Mom's car!!! It was powerful smooth and the best turning big car we ever owned...Had 3 good years out of that olds '98 until a drunken idiot Creamed it parked on a street...that Oldsmobile was as great as a Cadillac or Lincoln Continental in its own style. The last of Detroit s finest!

So nice to see an Oldsmobile still in original factory condition as intended! These fine cars had style and class nothing built today comes close to this how could the automotive industry have went from this to what they build today ?this car is absolutely beautiful

It's the same exact color and top scheme as is found in the advertisements of that time! This is about a pristine specimen of the ideal version of that car of that day! Excellent paint and engine bay!

Our family had one like this except ours was a 2 dr. LS and gold/gold. One of the prettier car we've ever had. It was driving a pillow, but had plenty of power for such a big car. It would run a flat out 120 mph, 'cause I did it! It took maybe around 45 sec. to 1 minute with the accelerator held down. It was just a gorgeous car. My dad bought it new.

I remember these as brand new. Then when I was 16' and had drivers license my Moms aunt sold me her 70' Olds Delta 88. 455'4bbl V-8. It had the double skinny whitewall tires like this one in video. Love those Oldsmobiles and this one is a real honey

There's a 1:43 scaled diecast "Kess" model of this same 1971 make, brownish-orange and model on Etsy, and Ebay. Did you see it? I have the lime-green one.

Wow that really brought back childhood memories, my dad bought a '71 delta 88 4 dr hardtop with same color scheme, the front end is almost identical, but the rest is definitely more luxury and better looking, while well equipped as a dealer "demo" from Greebe olds on kingshighway Blvd in st louis back in the day, but long gone, it was truly a treat to check out your exceptionally nice 98!! Thanks man

I've owned two of these; a 1971 , white w/ ice blue int & a 1973 , GM Green w/ forest green brocade interior.....both had the rear-seat clock ; which is just soooooo "piss" elegant for any automobile , along with the seperate ashtrays in the armrests & individual lighters ; which all worked until THE Fuses blew , and then , of course , you just buy another one and replace them ; they were the old 'glass barrel' fuses. This 98 is gorgeous !!! Is it for sale ??

Just INCREDIBLE! Even better is last year for this Horsepower rating before Emissions robbed the HP from these monster engines. I had a ‘72 Same car. MISS it Low Mileage gold with cream top. same style interior Paid $1500 in 1982 it was 10 years old. Sold it a year later for $2500 and I did nothing at all to the car. Except keep it detailed and fluid, belts, and hose changes.

My father had the Electra 225, similar on the outside but different on the inside. It did not have flow through ventilation. It started rusting in the rear quarters around 1978. The fender skirts went first.

Wow...I had one of these probably around the mid 1990's. It was a cream color with avacado green interior, the same upholstery style as this one. It had 76k original miles and bought it from the original owner for $750. I drove the heck out of that car! Everything worked too..down to the A/C., until the compressor gave out.

ALL THE LATE 60's and early to mid 70's GM VEHICLES were the Auto Industries " HAY-DAZE" BACK ' IN THE DAY'...and , of course , CHRYSLER-PLYMOUTH-DODGE had their designs and land-yachts as well as FORD & AMC....and then "OPEC" HAPPENED....which really sucked because the Federal Government got involved AND PRETTY much dictated@ that point how the american vehicles should be designed and built......& out the window went all the BEAUTIFUL LAND-YACHTS.....Along with the very impressive horsepower ratings.
