I hated nationals this year I hope 2023 is better. It made me so stressed, literally the meets my gym hosts are way less chaotic. You would think that a big meet like this would not be chaotic but nope!

OMG this year I was an alternate for level 9 eastern nationals, I got the call about 3 days before that I was going! Same as my teammate! But unfortunately, we were at different times, and couldn't find a hotel with 2 rooms for us to be together. I hadn't done any of my routines in 2 weeks, and i started working a completely new vault. So I went to the gym during xcel practice to do some vaults before we drove up. AND THE POWER WENT OUT! So I did yuerchenko timers in the dark with flashlights on the board. Anyway, it was fun but very stressful and chaotic. And i had one of my worst meets of the season! Im just glad i got to have the experience, since basically nobody knew what they were doing. I was in region 7, jr 8! Edit: THIS VIDEO MAKES ME SO EXCITED FOR THIS COMING SEASON, im trying to do level 10 this year

CONGRATULATIONS on 6th place! That's impressive- especially with the no sleep, traveling and waiting to compete.....Now I know why I didn't see you at uniform pick up....you weren't there yet. The boys were doing open workout at that time and I was watching them and looking for moms of girls I knew. Boys nationals is SO different from the girls nationals...The boys have to compete in their sessions and the top 50 out of all of the sessions make it to finals. My son actually got 1st AA in his session (it was the least competitive session) and made it to day 2 finals....He got a 6th place medal on vault with his 2 day combined total and ranked 16th AA (no medal) with his 2 day total- AND he went 12 for 12! No falls!! It was his best nationals EVER! I started watching ALL the gymnasts on the internet when he started gymnastics over 10 years ago just to get a feel for what we were getting into and your channel was one of the first I found. Good luck in your future!
