Living below sea level is not a good place to live. Shame on the govt for allowing people to live there!

I know that Brad Pitt helped rebuild several of these homes. Did he pay for ALL of them?

He helped along with the (MAKE IT RIGHT FOUNDATION) & (THE ROAD HOME PROJECT). Most of these houses were built from donations given. I was and still am here, our city has took a major hit but we still work everyday to make it a little better each day. The lower 9 is still the same as it was the day after the storm hit. Hardly any homes left, the house's that are still here are about 8 to 10 city blocks away from the levee break from Katrina that's all that is left. It's all wide open space with streets running through. The only thing left is the concreat slabs that the homes were sitting on or just the front porch with the 4 or 5 little steps going up that's it. Just imagine your neighborhood, minus all of the house's and people. Residents on the first 8 to 10 streets didn't know what hit them it happened so fast. There's a family who was a few streets away from the levee only 3 still here to talk about it but the rest of the family passed away in the flood. I'll try to post the link to the video here in the comments as soon as I find it......RECAP Can't post the link but go look up 10 YEARS FORWARD THE NINTH WARD part 1 & 10 YEARS FORWARD part 2. Here on youtube. ITS A VIDEO OF THE SMOOTH FAMILY'S EXPERIENCE..

It's so funny how they make it look like a community you will get shot and car jacked or sliced up in broad daylight out there.

More than 2600 people died as a result of hurricane Katrina. The deaths are grossly understated and covered up. Think about those who were jailed at the time and considered as "missing" still unaccounted for today.

THEY ALL HEARD THE WARNINGS...WHY DID THEY STAY??
@emmabemma3100

Not everyone has the means to live. You have to understand someone are ill, some cannot afford to leave. Lower 9th ward was very poor. Some people might not have cars. The warnings were also late and majority of people got caught in the storms on the highway. They didn’t even help hospitals, prisons. It was a very lawless hetic time. Majority of help didn’t come for 5-7 days after
