Since 1985, Merrion Square has been a regular art market in Dublin where on a Sunday morning many take a stroll to this wonderful open-air art gallery.
This weekly event is organised by Dublin City Council and artists are only permitted to exhibit original paintings on the railings of the Square, thus you can purchase original art directly from the artist. No commission is included in the price of the paintings so you will discover that the prices are quite reasonable. There is a great variety on display, from traditional to more contemporary styles.
You also get to meet and chat with the artist and learn about their work. The artists are friendly and more than happy to engage with passersby. So what better way to spend a Sunday, than to take a stroll around the beautiful Georgian setting of Merrion Square Open Art Gallery!
