I had never heard of beauty berry plants, but after moving to Knoxville, I discovered this plant, and I'm so glad I did. They make the best jelly. It's now one of my favorites.

I'm in the Lafayette, LA area. I have one Beautyberry that I literally ripped out of the ground in June of last year and transplanted into my back yard. The very late freezes we had this year along with the extreme heat and drought from this summer would have killed it had I not regularly watered it. However, it's doing well now, although I still have to water it because we are still in an exceptional drought situation according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. I'm planning to propagate it mainly for a source of mosquito repellent 🙂

What kind of soil? Does it like mulch? How much? Do I fertilize?

Hi Mr. Gill, I have a Century plant that is blooming right now. A friend said that I should contact the Ag center and let them know.. I have pictures of it but I don’t know how to load them in the comments?
