In this video, I demonstrate my favourite combination of Monitoring that I like to use when tracking with my Quantum system in PreSonus Studio One.

Marcus!!!! Thank you! Cue Mix Low Z monitoring!!! I've been wondering why I was getting latency on the Cue mixes even though I had Low Z engaged on the two bus. Thank you thank you thank you

this is all super helpful, I still have question though?? if I want to punch in on a guitar track on im working on and I want to hear it up until my punch in spot, what settings do I need? I cannot for the life of me find a useful explanation or demonstration of this anywhere in the presonus community

Is your Quantum interface Thunderbolt or USB-C? Does it make a difference (do they both have Green Z capability)?

Cubase, wake up. Every time I activate "Delay Compensation" it turns off my effects plugins. Cubase and Studio One, you're almost the same. Cubase, please, do better! I'm a big fan of both of you!

What's the benefit of having dropout protection to anything less than maximum? My understanding is that controls the buffer/latency for playback but as soon as you hit record it engages the low latency buffer. Is lower latency for playback needed?

At the end of the day, there’s options there to cater to lots of different users with different systems. In my experience - using maximum in the past has caused a slight delay when doing punch-ins for me, and medium was smoother. It really comes down to finding something that runs smooth, and getting things as low as possible while still having reasonable CPU usage. Maximum can be a bit too sluggish at times. I always recommend people start at medium and adjust from there. Hope this helps - Cheers, M

@@marcushuyskensmusic Ah yes, similar experience with me when using the maximum dropout protection, now I always start with medium and then adjust from there when needed.

Have you done a video on Aux channels in Studio One? I don't see one.

This works fine unless I add an outboard compressor to my main channel, which distorts the signal until I set my interface to 512.

Is there a reason why you have the process precision at 32 bit?
@marcushuyskensmusic

If memory recalls I dropped it down to 32 months ago - when there was an issue with using clip gain automation with process precision set to 64. Which (to the best of my knowledge) is no longer an issue. That being said - I don’t really overthink the 32 vs 64 setting. Cheers, M

Will the latency still be low when recording 8, 16 or even 24 tracks simultaneously?

fabfilter and many plugins not working green :/ why could it be :/
@zachandtomdad
@zachandtomdad 2 жыл бұрын
As I understand it, the plugin must have less than 3 ms of latency in order for it to work with green z. You can always check the performance monitor to see how much latency those fabfilter plugins are causing.
