Where did you buy your titan in Austria? I'm also in Austria and would like the 10.5
@MattShepherdFishin Жыл бұрын
The first thing I do with any new kayak I buy is go through all the screws and bolts and make sure everything is tighten properly. On the stubborn screws and bolts that won't stay tight I use blue loctite, problem solved. I was a bit disappointed that Matt Shepherd Fishin wasn't playing on the TV when you went in to get the wrench 😂

Two lessons learned. 1 keep tools on board. And 2 most importantly keep MattShepherdFishing playing.

The Propel drive on my 10.5 Titan did the same thing, after 5 years. Put some Loctite (242 Blue) on the bolts, torqued them in, and haven't looked back. (That reminds me... I better check the ones on my Titan X 12.5, too...!).
@charlescurryadventures6 ай бұрын
Yes sir. Torqued mine and zero issues after that too. But sold it and bought another one I will be selling here too. Ha

When i owned a fishing store i was a native dealer.When you assemble the drives from the factory your suppose to torque the bolts to a certain number.I never had pedals loosen up when i followed the instructions.I would almost bet it got looked over at the dealer by mistake.
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
Probably but a simple mistake especially if you just hand tighten them at first. When you get back to looking at them the cranks appear to be on tight so you forget to cinch them down. I understand how it can happen. And Bad Days Kayak has always taken care of me. The owner is a great guy.

Enjoy your videos. Took my Titan X 12.5 for its maiden trip today. Thanks for all your input. Yes it is heavy- it’s my third Kayak and this has the WOW factor.

Took my Titan X out first trip on Sunday and had the same exact problem. Of course, of all the adjustments, torques, and alignments. This is the one ( of 2) bolts I did not check. We all do dumb things and overlook one thing from time to time. Fixed now and out to slay some walleye this weekend! Tight lines!

Haven't had that happen with my Titan 12 yet, but I also have my allen wrench in my dresser at the house. I am going to be sure and start carrying it in the boat with me for sure now.
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
They probably tightened yours up before it left the dealership. I am sure it was a simple mistake.
@texascarpangler2389 Жыл бұрын
That was a huge beginner mistake. Always carry tools, bolts, nuts, screws etc for the parts your kayak has. Secondly you as an owner have to inspect, tighten, and secure everything BEFORE getting on the water. Vibrations while transporting will also loosen hardware over time so repeated checks is key to avoid failure. Great video and a lesson to those who might have the same happen.

Never had an issue with any Hobie drives I have had. I heard lately there have been some failures with them but they are back on track. Thank you for watching.

So the bolts loosen on their own? Other than being in the way when stowed, I haven’t heard anything bad about the Native pedal drive. Also, No Bad Days is who I was going to see next week about a Titan X, since they’re the closest dealer to me. Thanks for the video.
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
No bad days is awesome. Great customer service. It is possible the bolts just backed off. Idk. Maybe the cranks were out on and never tightened beyond hand tight. Either way I took the tool out of the kayak. That won't happen again. I am loving the kayak.
@VinceB391 Жыл бұрын
@@charlescurryadventures Yea, you’re probably right about the bolts. Thanks for getting back to me and the dealership recommendation. I’ll go check them out next week. Perhaps they’ll have a Black Friday sale happening soon lol

If you don’t use lock tight on those native drives it will keep coming loose no matter how tight you get it
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
Added lock tight so hopefully I won't have that issue again for a while. And will be keeping the allen key on board. Ha
