So if I'm mixing externally at a minimum of -6 dB, would it still be a benefit if I only turned up the Ozone Maximiser to +3 dB? I usually want to avoid clipping in any signal chain at all times, but with older tracks or stems it might be helpful to create a little more overall punch like this.

this is a quality limiter, but why even use a limiter when the PA usually has enough headroom to boost the volume ? I set the auto gain or manual gain on the fly, and set the master out at -2 or even -4 and never get clipping/red lights.

I also do this, but I guess the main point is to boost the tracks that don't shine enough, since lowering the volume can lead to a very weak sound experience.

Im not sure if this is right thing to do. Basically you're limiting already heavily limited track and squashing all dynamics to the max. Sound gonna be louder for sure, but all dynamics and depth will gone.

You can keep it in the -3 / +3 limit and it won't affect the tracks so much. Also have the autogain option on. It will sound tight on some tracks and no difference on others as the modern music (EDM) is already, as you said, limited and compressed. I basically use it as a master limiting option, be sure everything is in 0 when mixing at high volumes on loudspeaker systems.

Limiter = Boost ? Please guys keep it simple : limit is 0db.

@@KDSdj Can be both, catching peaks as well as making things loud within a limit. So a limiter can limit your sound as well as boosting it. Yes, you're right to keep limits to 0dB, but sometimes with some older tracks you need some boosting, as the mastering was not so loud and compressed before.

Is it also better for the sound quality if I use the maximizer instead of the limiter but set the boost to 0 dB so that I have less clipping?

Still there is no Xdj Xz and Rx 3/Opus official mappings..And i will not update till they release these mappings..Just useless things for users.Add a good sound engine/maximizer,limiter and mappings..We need only them..And maximizer is very harsh gor crispy tracks..Need multiband maximizer and a good limiter..
