The tripod level change is actually just removing the option to pick a level 1 tripod if you have it higher level since the 18 tripod cap is being removed. now you can only select your highest obtained level.

Having sworn off the game once, given in to AGS' marketing and tried it again only to swear off it a second time because of the insane gatekeeping preventing me from getting into even Argos reliably enough... solo raids are huge. HUGE. They don't solve the core problem with the game that causes the gatekeeping, and gatekeeping will still exist past the solo-able raids, but it is a step in the right direction at least. The core problem, however, will never be fixed in a game like Lost Ark, because it's what makes them money. Players spending money to get gold to spend on busses to race through content and never have to learn it is actively beneficial to SG. Players spending money to get engravings/cards/gems/etc to keep up with the meta is actively beneficial to SG. And so on. I don't ever want to be the outsider who complains about content being too hard, resulting in changes to make it easier that ruin it for its core audience, so I won't complain about mechanics that are extremely punishing of small mistakes being included on Normal mode in raids. HOWEVER, when those raids are required as a weekly grind and are combined with the P2W mechanics above, it creates an extremely nasty feedback loop that perpetuates the gatekeeping and not only makes the game inaccessible to people who don't want to put in the effort to "git gud", but also makes it inaccessible to people who WANT to learn the raids, who WANT to git gud, but who, upon reaching them, are confronted with the clear and undeniable fact that the easiest way to progress is to swipe their credit card and pay some over-leveled bus boy to do the raid for them. I'm speaking from experience here, and it's disheartening as hell to someone who really, REALLY wants to like this game. I can't say whether I think the new changes will fix part of this problem or not, as I'm no expert. But nothing I've seen from SG or AGS yet seems to acknowledge that their predatory monetization of a game that has basically zero content outside of raids past a certain point (and certainly none that lets you progress meaningfully) IS the problem with Lost Ark. And until they fix that problem with even more substantial reworks of systems, they're just gonna be kicking the can down the road until the playerbase gets tired of tolerating it.

100% spot on, my thoughts are exactly the same as yours. I quit back in october 2023 after like 2k hours. This game has gatekept harder than WoW or FF ever has it's crazy. You need to have this insane resume just to get invited in, just to begin getting experience to learn the raid. But to get accepted u need to swipe your card hard. It's frustrating seeing what the game COULD be and instead they choose to keep milking the existing playbase while having no new or returning player retention. Money over anything.

@@Kamishikyo Money over anything, is precisely the issue. The whole "Lost Ark is more forgiving than BDO because gear doesn't break on a failed hone" thing is extremely deceptive. I won't defend BDO, but at least there is a place in the game for people to grind out a wide variety of nigh-endless content without dropping piles of money on the game. Lost Ark IS its raids--there is precious little of value in the game aside from them, and what is there is both limited and built solely to make you more powerful for the main attraction--those raids. So when players can't progress to get into those raids easily, reliably, and quickly enough to be able to learn them, let alone grind them for weekly roster progression (without spending money, of course), THAT is the core issue. Addressing anything else is a band-aid on a sucking chest wound. Of course, gatekeeping exists in other games. You'll get gatekept in GvG and stomped by whales in PvP in BDO, etc. But there is other stuff to do in those games, other ways to progress and grind and gain power, without spending money (though all K-MMOs are at heart P2W in some sense). But Lost Ark has nothing. That needs to be fixed, because the game at its core is easily fun and interesting enough to retain players as it stands if only that issue did not exist.

@@magnumbeef Exactly! I fell for the whole lost ark is more forgiving than BDO. Because that's what I was playing at the time. I honestly shouldn't have never left it for lost ark. Every Korean MMO is p2w but you weren't picheon holed into one way of progressing and PLAYERS dictating whether you get to experience it or not in bdo. You can grind more loot to enhance or sell. Can do so many non combat life skills and if you're really dedicated to that you can make as much money as someone who grinds mobs. You can buy gear instead of making it etc. No ones gatekeeps pve content, get the gear score and you're in. Not a job interview just to be able to play. Even in the pvp where the gatekeeping would happen, there's different tiers of node wars and everyone plays the lowest tier where gear is nerfed and very accessible to everyone. Obviously the siege wars is where the whales are at and require skill with your class and high gear score but again if you can't join that it's not like you can't play the game. Because as you said, lost ark is raids and everything else is a preparation of that. If you can't do raids then everything is meaningless and you might as well not play at all. Bussing is not an intended way of playing anyways so that doesn't count. What would be the point of working on your character so you lay dead for some whale to do the content for you, what would be the point of playing then you know? BDO has content for everyone while lost ark has one path to content and it's dictated by players but to no players fault because the devs made it this way on purpose. They know about the issues, they're not stupid, they weighed the pros and cons of money and this is the path that yields more money. These changes are to keep the existing player base to keep milking them, to keep them running on the treadmill while alienating the new and returning players. Pretty sad stuff.

the new accessories dont work like that, they are not like tier 3 anymore, tldr: you can select 6x3 of whatever you want, your stone will add extra stats to that engraving depending on how many nodes you hit. (from saint's note)

@@marklorant1906 the new accessories get their own honing system in T4 from the looks of the UI every hone you do on them allows you to get more ark passive points and random stats, and you can sell them in the market even after upgrading them. we won't know the full specifics until we get T4 release, but from what I heard, since you can transfer your T3 accessories to T4, there is no need to worry about redoing your 5x3, 5x3+1 or 5x3+2.

Solo raids seem good for new players, the rest seems anti new players and widening the gap. I don't think I have it in me to keep going when it seems like the grind is only going to get worse with multiple systems to redo at once.

Some one Saw about...Grudge give 21 % damage bonus INSTED of 20% just becaus new system...its open for pretty tiny but important setting for your character. need more crit?take it from adrenaling increasing. do it! For ppl who do not know. You can not convert T2 gems in T3. and T2 lvl 10 = T3 lvl 5. An ppl CRY rigth now about t3 lvl 10= t4 lvl 8 and you CAN CONVERT t3 =>t4. I was sort of hoping the early abyssals were also made for solo, as an avenue for new players to grind towards LoS30 on their own time, but if they do plan to make getting LoS cards easier, I guess they can get rid of the old content. Not sure how I feel about the parry mechanic as it feels odd when the combat has been "don't get hit" or "use the right immunity to take hit" as defense. Those concerns aside, I hope they expedite solo mode to the west within a similar time as KR. It's a big deal for both regions, but especially with the lower player counts here. T4 seems interesting when it gets here, and I do like that they're moving towards an easier time with all these dang power systems.

yes, solo content has a menu to choose effects (like yearning buff, add dmg or "hitmaster tripod" etc.). this effect should be able for any back attack gets the same damage hitting as the frontal attack.

I hope the non transform version of scouter and SH can use the 3rd awakening too. The tripods uncap is a big W for for everyone, but more so for GS/DE. But lots of good stuff.

Elixirs cost reduction matters a lot less compared to less rng to get 8 points WITH set bonus. How is SG addressing that? I may have missed it, but I saw no talk about streamlining elixirs to be more accessible and a more consistent form of power growth. Vs what it is now: not casual nor newbie friendly. And even vets hate and condemn it.

echidna honing is binded with echidna… same way akkan gear with akkan… so no t4 mats are only new raid that coming after behemoth

Most people were waiting for the exhausting fundamentals of Lost Ark to drastically change to cater to a more westernized culture and move away from the korean rice farming culture and making games a job. We farmed engraving, stones, accessories, bracelets but now with T4 you gotta redo everything you did, they really think people are robots or slaves or something. People were so excited about the Solo content, to just no longer having to deal with gatekeeping created by LA systems, but no Solo content will give ''Some gold'' and not the same gold as if you do it with a group, they really can't do anything to make people experience good without a trade off.

You will learn your elixirs and transcendance, will not be tied to your items. So when you change items (or if you skip a certain set with a pass) you dont need to transfer it or change it in your presets.

from what I heard there will be transfer from T3 to T4 available for accessories, stones, etc. so nothing will need to be redone for the initial swap. the change comes in the fact that they are adding relic engraving books which is what will enable you to eventually swap to a 5x3 T4 ability stone and class engraving from accessories. but yeah having accessories become like bracelets for T4 was definitely a bad call since we all know how annoying the bracelet RNG system is.

As long as the game is forced Alt play, Forced Dailies / Homework and not solo Causal friendly am not coming back. As a Casual solo player you need to swipe too hard to get invited to Raids. Too many games out to swipe 1000s of dollars just to do some content. This and if they are going to not make the game on a global release so the new content is fun to learn like in KR, but the time the content comes to the West the the gatekeeping is soo hard cause they just follow KRs Rules. Makes playing so BORING!

I rly love this game, but just get this: The fix, for ppl getting less gatekept, is a solo mode. It’s a great thing for public lobbies because of solo raids and if you get gatekept you can beat it alone if you choose to. That’s what stops the gatekeeping, it will not be an excuse for not doing your weekly raids and you earn the same amount of gold as if you was playing in public lobbies

@@Too2Cold Okey, so, first of all idk why you are so mad :D I didnt wanna insult you, which I didnt, but I just told you why you answer was weird and had a lot of mistakes in it(like you writing that you get the same amount of gold even tho solo mode gives less). Let me phrase the gatekeep problem like this: If I apply now vs then, what changes? Excactly, nothing. This is why im saying that the gatekeep problem is still there because if it is now or then, ppl will still get declined. Solo mode, which gives less gold is not a DIRECT soluton to gatekeeping, its just lets players get raids done solo for less gold, which I dont like since its not a DIRECT change for gatekeeping in generell. I will even give you some direct changed that would help the game to less gatekeep, so that you can get an idea: 1: Making you get LoS 30 faster and adding more in between steps (they actually finally did this one at least after so many years of the game being released wow) 2: In generell nerfing system and giving ppl the change to get stuff faster (elexirs and stuff) 3: adding in more difficulty modes and nerfing raids, which would result in ppl wiping less and also shortening in between ilvls, so that for example Clown isnt only run by 1540+ and everyone else is gatekept) I hope you get a better understanding of this and like I said, dont be mad or anything it wasnt an attack or something, just a comment to correct some of the stuff you wrote :) Have a good one!

50% gold reduction only for new character using the express, and idk if we watched the same video but the elixirs will still be very much meaningful even on new t4 gear, pretty much everything will be meaningful as its only a soft rest not a hard reset.

Im actually reduced my ingame plaxtime and chars and focused all into my main char. Also the fck hard grind for lvl 10 t3 gems. But wtf they done and change is a joke now T4 gems, more quality to 120% no elixier or transcendence rework. After 5200 hours im done ... cause after season 3 then came season 4 with T5 etc. Im not willing to spend more time doing same BS every day and homework still. RIP Lost Ark for western playerbase!!!

Same. I feel this is 100% the opposite of what the west needs to survive. Solo raids is a positive(even if lower gold, but they should have made it same as nm imo) everything else sucks for new players and widens the gap. @@chriso6042 Well, they reduced the chaos dungeons to 1 instead of 2. Which is basically solo content and is boring af. But they already did that for guardians and the player numbers kept falling down so not a big deal. On the opposite side, now you'll have to level up all your alts to T4 to be efficient, and that means doing a lot of elixirs and doing a lot of transcendence even if they halved the cost, doing a lot of Thaemines with pugs.... Existing event gems will be useless... And what is going to happen with our T3 honing mats? I don't recall letting them turn T2 into T3. Again, no new char, but at least they could give us another powerpass event to use it on an existing class.

So they didnt solve anything. Nice. Instead of doing these Tier resets they couldve adressed the problem with gear progression but nope, SG be like: lets reset and hope they forget how we screwed them lol

Dunno, about on par with helldivers 2, street fighter 6 and warframe on the average players. Sure it's no GTA or counter-strike, but for an asian mmo it's doing fine in the west.
