Or they can make 9/7's easier to get and not keep adding vertical systems or new characters that are balanced around 9/7's as optimal foundations. Given how old stones are... they have to streamline it, or one day every new player, or not insanely lucky, will be inspected; "oh, no 7x3? Insta decline. " Thinking ahead: stones are a very toxic form of required progression, and the difference between a 9/7 or non-equivelent will only widen as SG introduces more T4 systems.

My question is, isn't the bonus for a 9 grudge higher than a level 9 stabilized status in example? I assume we all have to aim for a 9 on grudge.

yes, so 10/10 stone is ideal ofc, that won't change; 9/9 is the runner up; 9/7 is still the general goal for most players, but it won't be as precious as b4, as it won't have too much of an edge over a 7/7

I think I heard the go-to will most likely be 9-6 for efficiency/cost from t4 Like before you would wanna cut 7/7 to feel you have a good stone, now the sweet spot without breaking the bank will be 9/6

Same thing for regular accessory but a limite of 20 items per day . no pheons BUT trade limit is -1 everytime. so careful

I dont quiet understand. So it means I have to read the books AGAIN?. Or are these new books. I am a bit confused rn. So assuming I have the classic max amount in T3 of books read for an engraving. So up to all the 20 legendary books for grudge. Do I now need to reread these books starting with the green ones to get the EXTRA bonus? Thanks in advance for any clarification

Any idea on how the stone system will work for the non-damage engravings? What could it do with Precise Dagger? Or usual support skills: for Awakening? For Drops of Ether?

We don't know yet, I'd like to know too. I have a 9/7 stone with Explosive Expert, if it's not reworked I'll have +3.09 dark grenades lol

7/7 is fine, as far as i understood, this new system only de-valued 9/7, which comparablely makes 7/7 better I guess? 7/7 got 2x level 2 bonus for the respective engravings; On paper, CD is same as RC but unconditional except for the heal penalty, so yea CD is better and more stable for surge, but if you already got used to the RC playstyle and skill rotations, I guess it makes no difference theoretically

The problem with all this is... stone cutting is still the same. Still the same gap between luckers and average joes with no semblence of pity to grind towards. I've spent over 1.5 million gold chasing 9/7, never got it, and now you're telling me it goes up all the way to 10/10 now? I'm happy with how engravings will work but their insistence on dragging their dogshit RNG T3 systems into T4 just misses the whole point of why we wanted T4 in the first place. Disappointing.

This is a very stupid take. Let's do some math: Static 9 pheon cost per ability stone. Static 850 blue crystal cost per 100 pheons. Average 736 stones to get any 9/7 (using calc, 0.136%) Average 1270 stones to get specific 9/7 (using calc, 0.0787%) Assume an average cost of 3000g per 95 blue crystals and 500g per ability stone. 3000g / 95 = 31.58g (cost of one blue crystal) 31.58g x 850 = 26843g (cost of 100 pheons) (26843g x 0.09) + 500g = 2916g (cost per ability stone) 2916g x 736 = 2,146,176g (cost for any 9/7) 2916g x 1270 = 3,703,320 (cost for specific 9/7) Keep in mind these are only average costs and you could easily spend way more. The cost also goes up if blue crystal prices are high or if you're cutting expensive rocks. If you are not willing or able to spend 5+ million gold to get a 9/7 you should not be attempting it, you're literally just throwing time and gold away. This game is designed to generate most of its profit from only 5%-10% of players (whale spenders). There needs to be something for these people to chase and spend money on to keep the game alive. They can swipe 5+ million gold for a 9/7 and in return become very slightly stronger. A F2P casual player probably won't get that tiny extra damage from 9/7, but in exchange you get to play the entire game for FREE. The new system is actually an incredible upgrade compared to what we have now. I reckon most people are going to try and cut a 9/6, which will give you a level 3 and level 1 bonus. This is about 153 stones, which is a much more achievable goal for the average player (~500K gold). If you still want to chase a 9/7, you have to spend an extra 3-4 million gold for only 0.75% extra damage.

I assume that having the books for the class specific engravings will either give you a head start in the new system or add some kind of buff? if not then a lot of people spent a lot of gold for basically nothing.

That’s what I was wondering, my brother scolded me that why I cut a grudge stone when I got legendary book read for it. I got 10 on grudge and 5 on mass increase, i was hoping the calculations would be in my favor.

I got while randomly cutting stone cause I didn’t know what I was doing lol. I was 2 months in to lost ark and got the 10/5. I asked my brother is this stone good cause felt a little too easy. I didn’t know that it could have been bis if it’s 10/6. My brother felt more pain than me. But now after 6 months, it hurts just cutting stone cause I barely get 7/7 now on my other characters 😂

I thought they introduced this new engraving system because they wanted to get rid of ability stones and the cutting of said stones because it's so obnoxious and hard for beginners.... Now seems like they just made it 5x worse

what are you talking about? stone cutting was only a pain in the ass cause of pheon costs and buying a specific stone, now you can cut any combination that your class uses
