The Netherlands announced plans to send a Patriot air defence unit to Lithuania, a NATO* ally. The deployment is part of a summer joint air defence exercise, the Dutch Defence Ministry announced. In a press release, the Dutch military said that the exercise, spanning several weeks, aims to bolster air defences along the eastern flank. The goal is to evaluate NATO troops' ability to swiftly transport and deploy air defence systems within a designated area, as per the press release.
