Beautiful fish Peter! Nice to see the sea mouse in shallow water. They come in to lay their eggs, late autumn and early winter.

According to all the literature I know of they spawn sometime between later winter and early summer? But for some reason there seems to be more of them in the fall and winter in shallow waters here. Probably because of the dark?

@@PeterSL10 well, like I said! Autumn into winter. But I suppose it depends on who wrote the paper. Or how long ago. Either way it's nice to see them in shallow water. And swimming away 👌

@@Billyfishing_watch Only sources I could find now said spawning in april-june or simply just spring, but because the research on these fish are so limited it's difficult to say why they come shallower in the fall and winter. Seems like they go into way shallower waters here in the north than what they do further south like the mediterranean at least, so my guess would be mainly to feed, and that darkness and water temperature plays a role. Do you know how they behave around the UK and Ireland?
