Thanks very informative, but I'm quite sure Zircon are the very oldest gemstones, and play a large part in dating when free water became evident on earth. Please correct me if I'm wrong or misunderstood. I have a beautiful zircon of exceptional size and clarity found in Northern Territory Aust. mounted in 18ct gold and chain. At 9.5mm a side in and a special square cut for zircon looks spectacular...would love a diamond equivalent ! take care
