I don’t judge anyone! And your hair is your hair, but I believe that we all need to do our homework when we decide to add ANYTHING to our hair styling routine. I am a life natural and I have known since I was a young teenager that you don’t touch your scalp before getting a perm or relaxer. My cousins were always asking me to do their retouches because we were broke. So I would read the whole information insert out of the container. Even some natural ingredients can cause scalp irritation. That’s why I watch Crystal, she constantly encourages us to learn our hair!

I would HIGHLY recommend the texture release OMG I don’t have any regrets! It doesn’t strip your natural hair and talking about growth!!!!! Donielle Hair in Texas is the best!!!! Hands down!

I agree no need to bash anyone. It's their business and preference. I remember them relaxer days. I must admit being relaxed at the time I thought it was the right thing to do for me because of the time and less patience I had. I'm older now and well seasoned enough to know that for me natural hair is my love of commitment. Although natural hair takes time, patience and much much commitment it just works for me. To be honest my hair has NEVER been at it's healthiest and longest in my entire life. I can't believe it at times that my natural hair is so long. Black women can grow long beautiful hair, rather relaxed or natural. I do better natural, that's just me. No judging here...

I so love the way you teach hair care. I pray your client goes back for the corrective process so she won't have a lot of shedding. It would be a shame to lose any of her beautiful hair. It looked good. Gr8 job Miss Crystal 👍❤🙏

I went natural because every relaxer I've ever used left my hair just like this, which resulted in constant breakage. Touch-up were the pits because my scalp was/is so sensitive even with basing and the mildest relaxer. Being natural just works for me, my hair and my scalp.

I also enjoy how you reach to all of us who watch and listen to your videos. You are very knowledgeable and out of all the cosmetologists that are available on KZbin, you’re the only one that I watch because I believe in your technique and how you explain everything. I know I’ve said it before if I lived there you would be my hair stylist.

I'm curious as to how you feel about clients requesting that you use a specific brand of products on their hair (especially if it's not a brand that you carry at your salon)? I always found it a bit peculiar, but I would love to have your (and others') opinion on this.

I had my hair relaxed for many years. During the process, the stylists have never applied the relaxer to my hair first. The always started at the roots of my hair. I’m confused. 🤷🏽♀️
@adaomma111 ай бұрын
It’s a virgin application. You were getting a relaxer retouch
@sharellpeterson840811 ай бұрын
Starting at the roots causes over processing and for your hair to start burning quickly due to the heat from your scalp, you should apply at least a 1/4 in away from the scalp
@kimberlytaylor272511 ай бұрын
Great info! Beautiful hair! This happened to me with my daughter years ago. She was super sensitive and I wasn't moving fast enough. So I then started to relax, rinse, and neutralize the back half first then go back and do the front two quadrants. Have u tried that before?

I’m not understanding why she couldn’t finish the relaxing process; was it her choice not to finish it (if so, why would she choose that?) or was it Crystal’s decision not to finish it?

If you manipulate the scalp before a relaxer it burns the scalp and you can't keep the relaxer in for the allotted time. It used to happen to me all the time before I went natural.

I would be so upset. You are relaxing her scalp, this is most likely why her scalp was burning her. You should try and miss the scalp as much as possible, instead you applied in a lazy fashion and went over the partings. I hope she wasn’t charged for the corrective.
