So tip for naturals from a natural with difficult thick hair: ° When doing a twist out thick hair you must make smaller sections to achieve a more distinct curl. It took me 3 different twist out methods to realize this. Every time I did a twist out it always came out puffy and only the ends would be curly. Sooo yeah word of advice 😟😟

I recently did a big chop! I'm so excited to get to know my natural hair! I've had relaxed hair for most of my life. It's one of my biggest mistakes ever trying to have straight hair when that wasn't really me. But that was the past. Now I'll have truly healthy, natural hair. My hair is already doing so well. It was so dry. It drinks in all the moisture and products that I put on it. Thank you to all the ladies on KZbin for your tutorials and advice. You really are helping a lot of women wear their natural hair and be proud of it!!

You are so extremely beautiful I swear. African American women are so beautiful especially when they embrace their curls instead of getting relaxers and weaves so their hair can be straight. I was one of those ppl but it was KZbinrs like you and Yolanda Red that helped me realize that curls are beautiful. I didn't know how to do fun styles with my hair and I'm currently growing our my relaxer and trying new things thank u

the perfect twist out, whether it's a 2-strand or 3-strand twist out, takes time and effort to achieve AMAZING results. So glad to see a well-done twist out. I get my inspiration from videos like this and can finally say I've mastered the perfect twist out for my own 4-c, low porosity, thick hair. I make my own DIY products as well to achieve the perfect balance between nourishment and optimum hold for my hair. I've documented my own version of the perfect twist-out on my KZbin channel and am glad to see others achieve beautiful results as well!

Absolutely beautiful!!!! I want to know what you did to our hair after you washed it. How did you dry it? Did you braid it while it dried, use a blow dryer, pull it in a pony tail, what???
@LadiiJustus7 жыл бұрын
Deborah Stowe she did the style on washed, air dried hair. she dampened the hair instead of doing it completely wet and added her styling products so that it dried easier overnight. I think if she had used a dryer she would have said that part but I'm not sure. that's just the conclusion I come to since she was so detailed about everything.

Okay, I'm on a quest to get the perfect Twist-Out. I no longer twist on wet hair, damp only. I've learned that the curling smoothie works well with light gel and a mouse. I'm learning how to not borrow from each twist, and now I'm going to try the three rows, not using a comb to part and twisting around my finger to get best results... I'M ON A MISSION lol. My hair is two years old, you'd think she'd know better by now...but then again, two year olds are notoriously fussy smh

Your result is GORGEOUS!!!! I want to do flat twists but I don't know how. I will experiment this weekend. Does anyone out there have any tips for a 1st time flat twister/sister? I like my results from the 2 strand twist but I just really want to step my hair game up. I just feel like there are more style possibilities (especially for the work place) when one knows how to flat twist their hair.
@00Crazyness10 жыл бұрын
Not an expert lol but make sure you put enough moisturiser (and seal with oil) and make sure you spritz your hair with enough water (if using spray bottle). Also best to do it on detangled,conditioned/deep conditioned hair, twist out will be more defined and hair will feel softer. Other than that for me personally the rest is straight forward. Good luck if u havent tried it yet lol.
@TineshaDana871i10 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I tried out the flat twists this morning. I unfortunately don't think I used enough product but I pressed on anyway. Thankfully I don't work tomorrow. I used another youtuber's style for my experiment but I'll let you know how they turned out.

Tinesha Dana Hope it turns out well lol! What products do you use? I would really recommend cantu shea butter leave in conditioner, I swear by that product!
@TineshaDana871i10 жыл бұрын
00Crazyness I love cantu leave in conditioner. I use cantu define & shine custard for WnG's. I use African pride bouncing curls pudding(it was cheap!! Great for 2-strand twists). I'm proud that I found I wad able to do the flat twists but I didn't like the results the first time out. My twists weren't very defined. I detangled my hair, it got tangled and gross as I went along lol. I haven't been deterred though, I'm gonna try again in a few days. :-)
@00Crazyness10 жыл бұрын
Tinesha Dana I think I need to look into the define and shine custard! Aw well you know the saying try again. Did you do it on wet hair? For some reason braid outs and twists turn out more defined for me when the hair is damp but guess depends on your hair type. Do you have looser or tight curls?

My hair texture is medium fine w small corkscrews when wet and frizzy. I don't have a full head of hair like yours. Braiding your hair that way row by row instead of individual single braids appears to be faster! Since I don't have your texture I was using rods or bantu knots to give my hair body and curls! My hair tangles and knots so I have to blow dry it straight to it can look smooth in the roots. I will try your flat out twist method! I won't get the same volume of curls like yours! But nothing tried nothing done! Beautiful!

Are you a natural as in NO RELAXER, cause your hair looks awefully good but relaxed. But it could be relaxed as in "well maintained" LOL--just asking...
@alexiamills10 жыл бұрын
Relaxer makes your hair straight...... Lol
@toniapx10 жыл бұрын
Alexia Mills No relaxers do not make OUR hair straight--it temporarily relaxes it so that it can lay down--as in flat, and is specifically used ON THE ROOTS of OUR hair for this purpose. F.Y.I; black people hair grows straight, as in up and the same as all other things apart of nature, as in "natural"... Lol.
@toniapx10 жыл бұрын
***** I'm checking out her roots....
@alexiamills10 жыл бұрын
toniapx we must be talking about two different things because my hair used to be relaxed and the curl was gone aka straight. It wasn't just flat
@toniapx10 жыл бұрын
Nonalola Never said natural was HARD to maintain, and because it just takes longer to maintain means there is a sense of care, serious care involved that has to be applied for the result I'M SEEING--besides, a well maintained mane (hair) is just another way of KINDA saying "healthy"...Thanks for your explanation, "Mini Marley", it was "well" said as in "no offense taken", and relaxers DO flatten, straighten, lay down, thin out and any other synonym that's attached to "relax"... Overall in my previous, I'm simply saying TO MINI MARLEY that HER hair looks [unbelievably] great--a compliment indeed and no doubt. To me, her roots looks thick and straightER-thinnER-flattER than I've ever seen on anyone that's all natural--not to say that that's impossible, and since you say you see "the kinky curl pattern from the roots to ends", that's even more what's up and even more what makes Mini Marley's hair looks that much more great. Again, thanks for your explanation, it did clear some things up for me, and it seems we both agree seeing that her hair is gorgeous!
