If you want to incorporate colour of beetroot powder then you take a cotton cloth, put powder in it and tie it up to make sure it can't come out. When you are heating oils up just put the tied cloth in it like you would put tea bag in water and viola you'll have the colour of beet. Although on lips it'd transparent too

Haven’t done this myself, but maybe you could try infusing the oils with the beetroot powder for a of couple days before preparing it so that the colour infuses the oils, and then strain the mixture so in the end it’s not a grainy texture. It’s a technique used in soap making and I think it could work 🤷🏻‍♀️ anyways, lovely recipe 💜

I wanted to comment on the beetroot issue.. i think could put it in a stone pestle and mortar and grind it into a fine powder before adding it to the oil.. that would help it to be alot smoother. I love your videos but having researched flavour additives for lip gloss, please note using orange or any other essential oil on lips can be/ is toxic if ingested .You need to use an orange cosmetics “lip safe “ formulated flavour oil, not essential oil which is for external use only, and never for lips .if your orange essential oil gets into your mouth or into the lungs /throat it can cause poisoning and reactions. . There is a major difference in essential oil for fragrances, and flavour oils for lip products ....

I never heard that but I will research that. What I do know is that cold pressed citrus essential oils can be photosensitive. You wouldn't want to go out in the sun bc your lips may burn with lime and grapefruit. I recommend looking into which ones are not good for the lips or skin if you go out and spend any length of time outside.

You can use .5 up to 3% skin safe essential oils in lip gloss and it should be ok. She only used 1%. The thing is to choose only the safe oils, in this case, she probably shouldn't have used the bergamot oil. Lemon and orange are safe according to several websites.

I make 100% organic lip gloss, but for color I use mica. If you use those powders it will just be a gritty lip gloss. I wish there were more options for color, but the only thing that really works is micas.

Absolutely! You can substitute almond oil for your preferred oil. This is an anhydrous (no water) recipe so it's probably easier to start from scratch rather than adjusting this recipe, but if you wanted to include glycerine you need to add emulsifiers & preservatives. 😊

Hi! I'd say about 6 months, there's no water in this lip gloss recipe so it could last longer. But I find it's best to be cautious with lip products because they come in frequent contact with your lips, I'd replace it after 6 months. Thanks for watching! 😊

I decided to tweak and use Castor oil and vegetable glycerin (to make it thicker). Do I need to add a preservative when I'm not adding water directly? 3 parts castor oil, 1 part vegetable glycerin, 1 part wax

Glycerin is only water and alcohol soluble is it may be best to use a preservative and an emulsifier
