Thanks so much for watching this video! 😊 This video is supposed to help you understand what the differences are between a natural and an induced labor. Please keep in mind though: there are many more factors which determine how a woman experiences her delivery (apart from the question, if she was induced or not): the position and station of the baby, status of the cervix, health status of the mother etc.

Hi thanks so much for the info. I recently delivered my baby through medically induced labor. Mine is vbac and i received an epidural too. I also wondered about what the natural labor pain would feel like. I can say that medically induced labor is strong and intense that i am not able to tolerate the pain and asked for an epidural. But the epidural didnt work well. I only felt numbness on my right thigh. Thanks to god , the doctors were very supportive and i delivered a healthy baby boy😊. Now i am watching this video and i feel like there is no need to feel guilty for receiving the epidural. Thank u guys. This video means a lot to me😊

Hi there 😊, thanks so much for sharing this with us! 😊 There is really no need to feel any guilt when asking for an epidural! Most women say that medically induced contractions are much stronger. Besides, one has to keep in mind that not every woman experiences labor the same way. For example, we had cases of women who told us that "their tummy felt a bit strange" during labor but that they felt no pain otherwise... Not something that most women would agree too... 😅 So, don't worry at all! The most important thing is that you and your baby boy are healthy! We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

My baby is 7month old today. I wish this video was posted 8months ago because my ob suggested induction to me and I did make the appointment on due date to get induced. Luckily, my baby knew better - he got out 2 days before the due date. I still used the epidural but from what you said, it's still better than induction.

I was induced in the beggining of 37th week due to Fetal Growth restriction. Contractions were so painful,, really terrible, never would have imagined. Maybe the fact it was my firt birth did not help. I got epidural and it helped incredibly. I was happy I could give birth vaginally though, I was happy tiny baby managed and I avoided C-section

I appreciate this information, I have experienced both and natural birth was wayyyyy better . I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and my drs may won’t to induce me due to baby’s weight being on the smaller side even though the estimate they are getting have a 50% chance of being right. I will be declining being induced
@CareAboutLittleOnes

Hi there Mikelyn 😊, thanks a lot for your comment! 😊 Almost every woman reports that a natural induction is better than a medical induction. And that's no surprise because with a natural induction, you are still going to have "natural" contractions. In that case, your body knows that you are in labor and will support you with its own pain management system. In medical inductions, that's not the case... In any case, it is YOUR decision if you want to have an induction or not... We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

I am an advocate for natural labour but I also think it is dangerous to use certain natural induction methods such as castor oil or other strong supplements. In my case, I had a medical induction at 41 weeks because my contractions weren't constant enough and my water was broken for already several hours. I had tried several home remedies and excercises for 3 weeks (because I wanted a natural unmedicated birth) but my contractions stopped every night after few hours. Little would I've known, my baby was suffering with every strong contraction, because she was wrapped with the umbilical cord. My body was very wise and stopped the contractions. I was told that if I would have used something stronger, like for example, castor oil, my baby could have risked brain damage due to oxygen depravation or might not have survived. Not long after being medically induced, the monitors detected severe baby stress and I had an emergency c-section. I think everyone should try soft methods like walking or love making, for example, but I ask you to be cautious and consider that if your body doesn't go into labour by itself, it might be for a reason.

Hi there Sophie 😊, first of all, thanks SO MUCH for sharing your experience with us! We really appreciate each and every birth story from our viewers! 😊 We are particularly happy to hear that your baby is well!! 🥰 There is something fundamental that we would like to add here: First of all, natural labor induction can only produce NATURAL contractions. The kind of contractions that you get when you go into labor spontaneously, without an induction. The big difference between natural contractions and medical contractions is that medical contractions (normally) make your uterus contract, no matter what's going on in your womb. Natural contractions however will (normally) stop as soon as something in your belly is not right. For example, if your baby is stuck in your pelvis, your contractions normally slow down because more intense contractions won't change anything - your baby is stuck. Medically induced contractions don't do that. They will try to press that baby down anyways. As a result, your baby is more likely to be under distress. And you are more likely to end up in a C-section. And this is exactly what you experienced. You tried various natural tools. But your contractions always stopped because something was not right in your womb. Your medically induced contractions on the other hand, did not stop. As a result, baby's heart rate dropped very fast and you logically end up in a C-section. Therefore, we are quite surprised to hear that they told you that Castor oil would have caused a damage of your baby's brain or worse. Because Castor oil too can only induce natural contractions. And as you could see, those stopped whenever you got them. That said, we still are on the same page with you! We too always warn women to be careful with labor induction. We too see Castor oil only as "last resort". Besides, the best thing is always to consult with a doctor first because they are supposed to know your pregnancy case.... 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

I’ve been induced both of my pregnancies due to low amniotic fluids and I really hope I get to go into labor naturally this 3rd time around
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, if you were induced because of low amniotic fluid, it does not necessarily mean that it happens again this pregnancy! It would be different if they had induced you because of a post-term pregnancy. Because evidence shows that a repeat induction is more likely in such cases... However, the same does not seem to apply when it comes to inductions due to low amniotic fluid... In brief: under normal circumstances, you can certainly go into labor spontaneously this time! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

I was scheduled for induction on May 5 at 10 PM at Jamaica hospital , NY at 39 weeks, I was recommended it as I had an IVF- baby girl by the hospital staff. I wasn’t sure I have made the right decision but I ended up with a C section since I didn’t dilate at all and my baby girl was stressed out from the meds they gave me. If I knew this could happen I would have gone straight for C section but... who knew?! So yes.. the medicated induction is stressing out the baby, her little heard slowed down few times during the process, and it was scary, trying to induce me for about 24 h, even with the water balloon but it didn’t work out. Anyway..... she was born on May 6 at 1.17 AM via C section perfectly healthy with an Apgar score of 10 🙏🥰 Thank you guys for your wonderful channel and your professionalism Hugs from NYC, USA-Daniela 🤗🙏

Hi there Daniela 😊, first of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your baby-girl from the 2 of us!!! 🥳🥳🥳 We are very sorry to hear that you ended up in a C-section. 😬 But to be honest with you, it's not uncommon after a medical induction. Unfortunately, it happens all the time, because one medical intervention almost always leads to other medical interventions. But please do not blame yourself! It's so difficult to make the right decisions when you are pregnant because you just cannot know which one IS the right one. In any case, all that matters is that both, mother and baby are doing well once that sweet little thing is born! So, it's great to hear that your baby is doing well! We hope that you too recover well from the C-section! We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️ Enjoy every minute with that sweet little thing (they grow up so fast)! 😊 P.S.: Thanks SO MUCH for your lovely feedback!! Hi there 😊, yes, sometimes (in about 3% of all cases), contractions go from 0 to 100 straight away. 😬 Not a very pleasant experience because then, the contractions hit you like a hammer... In that case, you are normally in active labor straight away (unless what you experience is prodromal labor). And in active labor, we need different strategies to cope with the pain... Hi there 😘, thanks a lot for sharing this with us!! Unfortunately, an induction can sometimes cause the uterus to hyperstimulate which either means that the contractions last very long (like up to 2 minutes) or that there is hardly any break in between... When this happens, they often either give you a labor-inhibiting hormone. Or they do something else, like an instrumental delivery (depending on the stage of labor), sometimes a C-section. That's because if the uterus hyperstimulates, it can quickly get too much for the baby (and the mother of course)... We hope you and your baby are doing well!! We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Question- would you consider AROM to be a medical induction? Does your body have time to develop oxytocin for itself it seems it does if your able to birth child without oxytocin after artificial rupture of membranes. I would love to hear your thoughts!
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, great question! 😊 Actually, TECHNICALLY, AROM is considered a medical induction. And they do that in the hopes that your body will push the production of labor hormones to get labor started (or to speed up labor - depending on WHEN in the process they do it). Although the result (if it works) may be considered a "natural labor", most women (who went through several deliveries) report that the resulting contractions are still more intense and painful compared to a spontaneous start of labor. It is not well researched why that is. But it is seems that the body is not able to activate its own pain management system that quickly (at least not to its full extent). Please also note that AROM does not guarantee that labor will indeed start. In fact, there is an increased risk that further medical interventions are necessary in order to speed labor up (such as Pitocin). But of course, there are also potential benefits. For example, IF it works, then it could indeed be a way to speed labor up if that is required... Does this answer your question? 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😘, please understand that we are legally not allowed to make any recommendations, particularly not in an online setting. We don't even know your pregnancy case. We can only tell you this much - and this is just a personal opinion: we are for everything natural. However, when looking at scientific studies, there are certain risks for the baby that normally increase, particularly if you go beyond 42 weeks. And in such cases, we have often seen that it is better to induce. Again, it's just a personal opinion. The best thing would be to discuss the pros and cons with your wife's OB and then make a decision! Thank you! 😘 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there Brooke 😊, yes, absolutely! The thing with castor oil is that it is more likely to work if this is not your first pregnancy (this is what science tells us as well as our experience). Moreover, it is more likely to work, if your body is ready for labor (meaning that it tends to work better at later stages of a pregnancy and when your cervix is soft). @@brookegianos1127 Hey there! 😊 You are MOST WELCOME! What you describe is something we are very familiar with! We see so many women who seem just super ready to go into labor. They experience all those early signs, but they just don't go into labor. One thing that helps VERY OFTEN in such cases is when we focus our treatments on relaxation and stress relief. Oftentimes, that's all the body needs to give it that last push... Now, at the clinic, we do acupuncture and reflexology. However, we are certain that it can also be other things to help you relax. For example, a nice massage treatment. So, maybe, you can focus your efforts on relaxation (since you are already doing such a great job in terms of exercising and acupressure...). Not entirely true, because in a precipitous labour and birth that last less than 3h, contractions do start from 0 to 100! Some women also have very strong and very painful and intense contractions from the beginning of labour and there is not much pain relieve until baby is born. Not all natural labour follow the same pattern.

Now I am actually very confused about all this artificially induced labour. Should I opt for planned C-section?
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there Sadia 😊, it is important to understand that each method comes with its on specific risks. Neither is a medical induction free of any risks. Nor a C-section. However, our personal opinion is this: if there are medical reasons why that baby has to get out of there faster than planned, then we would always try an induction first. That's because a C-section is essentially a surgical procedure. And therefore, it has a bigger impact on the body than an induction - at least under normal circumstances. Again, this is only our person opinion.... We strongly encourage you to have a conversion with your doctor in which your doctor explains to you in detail what the risks of each procedure are.... @CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, basically, inductions can also be successful if your cervix is not fully effaced. The induction is supposed to kick-start your labor. And your contractions are then supposed to help efface and dilate your cervix. And because of that, you should normally be able to have a normal delivery! That said, please keep in mind that sometimes, the first method of induction does not work straight away. In that case, they would try another method. Finally, there is also a small risk that the induction does not work at all. But we hope that your doctor has informed you about that! Hi there 😊, in cases like yours, we would normally look at baby's growth chart together with the treating physician. Some babies are just smaller than average. Period. So, if your baby has always been smaller than average, but CONSISTENTLY gained weight, then there is NORMALLY no reason to be worried. If, instead, baby's weight was, say, average for a longer period of time and if that growth suddenly dropped to a below average weight at a later stage of your pregnancy, this is when we would NORMALLY be concerned... However, this is only our general approach. Of course, only your doctor can evaluate the risks involved. Therefore, we can only recommend that you look at the growth chart together with your doctor. If baby's growth has been consistent, then your doctor is probably not worried that anything is wrong... In that case, we would ask her, if there is really a need to induce labor.... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😊, we are not gonna lie to you: it is really very difficult to induce labor if you are under time pressure. Stress and labor induction are two things which "don't like each other". That said - in our experience - the one thing that tends to work even in such situations is Castor oil. However, it is important to note that Castor oil won't work for every woman. Moreover, it does require the approval of your doctor. So, if your doctor approves the intake of Castor oil, it is something that COULD help you induce labor fast, particularly, if you combine it with other tools, such as nipple stimulation. But again, inducing labor naturally under time pressure is a very very difficult task... Still, we hope this information helps you... 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😊, if your cervix is soft and if you are 1cm dilated at this pint, then this is already fantastic!! Please do not worry! 😊 The fact that your cervix is posterior is not really a problem because this is going to change as soon as your pre-labor starts (or early labor). So, please do not worry too much about! That said, in order to support your body with that, we would basically use the same tools as for labor preparation and induction in general. We explain them in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

You are right We noticed this with our sister Induced is so much difficult and more importantly as you said it restricts body moments because of those continuous monitoring I also have this doubt my sister during her delivery her baby’s heart beat slows down and so they made an emergency c section My opinion is may as it look longer time so baby was in severe pressure and that is induced I mean it took 10 hours around She also said not clear with the instructions they gave how to push and when to push Does this duration and induced pain impact the heart beat of baby
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, thanks a lot for sharing this with us! 😊 Unfortunately, what you sister experienced is something that often happens. And here is why: When they induce labor, they give you synthetic hormones. However, it is not that easy to get the dosage right. As a result, it CAN happen that they "overdo" it which can lead to a hyperstimulation of the uterus. The problem is that during a contraction, the cord is compressed. Therefore, baby receives less oxygen. This is normally not a problem because when you are in labor, the body releases a hormone that protects baby's brain. But when your uterus hyperstimulates, the baby receives even less oxygen because the contractions last much longer. As a result, baby's heart rate will quickly drop. And this is when they panic and try to get that baby out of there as fast as possible... And what happens next is exactly what happened to your sister... We hope this helps you understand the problem...! 😊

@@zainabsaqib1026 Hi there 😊, actually, there are ways to increase the level of amniotic fluid, if this is required. There are 3 ways to increase the level: 1. Hydration (yes, water can really help here!) 2. L-Arginin supplementation 3. Injection of saline solution However, please NEVER just take L-arginin without your doctor's approval! So, if your doctor believes that this is an emergency, then it IS possible to increase the level very quickly with the injection of a saline solution. Did your doctor talk with you about these options?

Hi there 😘, we are not gonna lie to you: it is very difficult to go into labor naturally when you have all that pressure! So, the first step HAS to be that you try to relax, with whatever helps you do so. Acupuncture, yoga, a massage treatment etc. And then there are a few ways to support the process: In this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs) we explain several tools to prepare for labor and induce labor. Moreover, birth ball exercises could help (kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jVk4KZaciYmLs) On top of that, the right sitting position can also support the whole process (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWbYqZmoZb59lac) Keep in mind that sometimes, things can go really fast! So, just because you don't see or feel anything does not mean that you won't go into labor anytime soon.... Hi there 😊, lamaze.org has a great article on this topic. And they explain that - according to science - there is no evidence that there are any benefits of inducing labor because of a low level of amniotic fluid: www.lamaze.org/Connecting-the-Dots/what-is-the-evidence-for-induction-for-low-amniotic-fluid-in-a-healthy-pregnancy However, the question is: does your doctor suggest an induction because of the low AF level or because of the baby's weight? In this regard, the question is also, if your baby has gained weight continuously over the past couple of weeks (and is just a little baby) OR if baby's growth stagnated over time (which is indeed often a reason to induce labor because in that case, it could be that baby does not receive enough nutrients)... Do you know anything about that?

Hi there 😊 please understand that we are in no position to tell you, if you should wait for another week or have an induction. This is really something that you have to discuss with your provider who is familiar with your pregnancy case. We can only tell you i- in general - that it is not uncommon for women to go beyond their due date. In fact, on average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 days. Everything within that range is considered "normal". Also, if a woman has had at least some contractions already, it is normally easier to get labor started with natural tools, such as nipple stimulation - particularly if baby is in a good position for labor... Finally, we would also like to point out that medical inductions often lead to further medical interventions. Each medical intervention comes with certain risks. And we do hope that your provider has informed you about those risks... In the end though, it is your own decision! If a medical induction is what you want, go for it! In the meantime, we have a couple of videos that have helped other women to bring on labor: Natural labor induction: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs Best sitting position to induce labor: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWbYqZmoZb59lac Birth ball exercises: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jVk4KZaciYmLs We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Unfortunately in the U.S. they are induction crazed. I've had 1 csection and 3 vbacs and each vbac despite already progressing naturally they pushed me into a corner so to speak to get pitocin simply to make it go by faster. With baby 4 I was already 7cm when I showed up and they stated I really needed it. I'm due any day now(37 weeks) and I've heard csection and inducing more times this week than I've heard anything positive. I feels it's almost stalling me simply because they're making me anxious.

This video is awesome. In my experience, I had induced labor at 2 cm, which led to needing epidural as the pitocin contractions that I endured for 8 hours were excruciating and almost fainted from the pain, so I had to get the epidural. For my second, it was completely natural, no induction, and while transition/last stage of labor was extremely painful just like the pitocin, it was only for one and a half hour and worth not getting the epidural as that gave me complications. So, you’re right that your body gradually increases the pain in natural labor

Hi there Angélica 😘, it's a good question! Unfortunately, we have cases like yours all the time when doctors tell women that they need to be induced - although they would like to wait for labor to start on its own. So, the first thing we do in such cases is get a second opinion from another doctor. We are not gonna lie to you: there are many medical problems that do require an induction. The most common problem is that the baby does not receive enough nutrients to properly grow in the womb. However, some doctors tend to go for an induction without even checking if baby and mother are doing well. Other doctors however clearly say that as long as both are doing well, there is really no need for an induction. So all we can really tell you is this: get a second opinion! Both doctors are supposed to explain in detail why they think you need an induction or don't need one. And please do not hesitate to ask questions, particularly, if you have the feeling that they do not consider the well-being of your baby and your own person! We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

I had my induction at very early stage of labor at 40 weeks. I m pretty sure that my body would do everything on its own as I was 3 cm dilated and contractions on and off for a day. I did have tons of endorphins during induction and epidural, gave birth in 4 hours and it was the most amazing day in my life. I m still high from all the hormones it’s a week after birth. So I believe that correct timing is a key when opting for induction

I'm a FTM and 40+4 weeks pregnant! My hospital will book me for induction at 41+3 or 41+6 if I haven't gone into labour yet. I've been eating 6 dates a day since 36 weeks, drinking raspberry leaf tea since 33 weeks, going for frequent walks, tried evening primrose oil since 37 weeks, doing exercises on the birth ball, tried the miles circuit, acupuncture by a TCM specialist, acupressure (from myself/husband), sex, etc! I'm 1cm dilated and the midwife did a bit of a membrane sweep yesterday to try and get things moving more. Are there any other things I can do to help effacement and dilation and hopefully avoid the induction? Baby is at 3/5 engaged. Thank you!

Hi there 😊, first of all: WOW!! You really work very hard to support your labor! That's great! 😊 So, the good news is that your baby is engaged and that your are already a bit dilated (because not every woman starts to dilate before labor starts - but dilation makes a spontaneous start of labor more likely). So now, your baby's head is going to support the process by putting pressure on your cervix. However, you can support this process even further with a good sitting position. We explain how it works in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWbYqZmoZb59lac The other thing is: because your cervix is soft and because your midwife has done a membrane sweep, it would be great to support the process with nipple stimulation (we show how in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs). And then finally, try your best to relax! We know it's so easy to say. However, stress, fears and worries are often what prevents a woman from going into labor. This is also something that you can tell your TCM Therapist by the way: tell them to focus the treatment on relaxation, rather than labor induction. We have lots of success with such treatments when it comes to inducing labor, particularly in women who are 40+ pregnant.... Apart from that, just keep doing what you are already doing! You are doing a great job!! We really hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hello mam and sir, I have had an induced vaginal delivery a month back( may 5). I was induced because I was 40 weeks past and no signs of labour. My concern is that I have very less breastmilk, I hardly get 10-20 ml at one feed. I tried all possible ways, lactation supplements, breast pumps, hand expressing etc, but of no use, even after 1 month of delivery milk quantity has not increases. Could you please tell me if this is the side effect of induced labour and also could you please suggest any effective ways to increase my supply.
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, there are many ways how an induction can have a (negative) impact on breastfeeding although we are not 100% sure if it can also have an impact on the amount of available breastmilk. But since it has an impact on the production of oxytocin, it could indeed be that an induction has an impact on the amount of available breastmilk. However, the problem is that we can only guess. The reality is that very very often, the body does not produce enough milk because the latch is not correct. When that's the case, the baby cannot remove the breastmilk in an efficient way. As a result, the body believes that it does not need to produce lots of milk because the demand is so low. So, the first thing we recommend doing is talking to a breastfeeding consultant or midwife. Ideally, they observe you when you feed your baby so that they can give you feedback if the latch is correct. When the latch is correct, you can try these methods: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYWxoYhulrOpjpo to increase the milk supply. But again, please keep in mind that these techniques will only help if the latch is correct... We really hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

It worked better than pitocin (first birth) and the contractions were fast and painful. I went from 0-8 in 5-6hours. How you describe pitocin is exactly how the castor oil felt. There was no reprieve and the contractions felt very different than my first birth with no pitocin. (Once I had pitocin I had the eoidrural so I can’t compare).

Hi there 😊, thanks a lot for sharing this with us! We always appreciate when women share their stories with us! 😊 Regarding what you said: I think, our statement that Castor oil does not produce the same contractions as Pitocin was a bit confusing... To be clear: Castor oil CAN work in the exact same ways as Pitocin when it comes to inducing labor. In this regard, both can have the exact same effect: both can successfully induce labor. Moreover, technically, the contractions are the same, no matter if induced by Pitocin or Castor oil. But: the way your body reacts to those contractions is different! In case of Castor oil, your contractions are gonna be natural. Therefore, your body will support you with its own pain management system. When it comes to contractions that are medically induced, for example with Pitocin, your body will (normally) not support you with it's own pain management system. Therefore, those contractions (normally) feel more painful. As a result, most women will want to have an epidural when they have a medical induction... But eventually, both can lead to labor, contractions and a successful, normal delivery.... We are sorry, if our statement was a bit confusing.... 😬 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

@@CareAboutLittleOnes Thanks for your reply. Maybe I was not clear, my body did not support the contractions produced by castor oil. My first contraction after castor oil was extremely painful, and they were 5 minutes apart from the very begining. There was no build up and even though I planned a home birth, I rushed to the hospital for an epidural. My first birth (no castor oil) the contractions lasted days and I was able to stand the contractions. So in my experience, the contractions with castor oil were very, very different with castor oil feeling very painful and artificial with no build up.

Yes, we do know similar reports after the intake of Castor oil, particularly in cases, when it caused very bad diarrhea. We can absolutely understand why you said that those contractions were way more painful. If you go from 0 to 100 straight away, they hit you like a hammer... 😬😬 It's no fun....

So I have had 7 babies, 6 induced all natural labour, 3 were induced because water broke for several hours no contractions and from being over due what are we suppose to do wait longer for natural labor with inductions in these cases???
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, it depends! We had several cases of women whose water broke and who did not go into labor for 2-4 days. Their OBs wanted to induce them (which is the normal protocol when the water breaks these days), however, they refused. Eventually all of them went into labor spontaneously and gave birth to perfectly healthy babies. That said, whenever you make a decision like this, you have to make sure that baby is doing well in there. Unfortunately, this is not always an option given the health care systems that we have these days in many countries... Moreover, we are not gonna lie to you: if a woman was induced in previous pregnancies, because of a post-term pregnancy, then it is likely that she needs another induction in subsequent pregnancies. So, in such cases, it is questionable if you would really like to wait for labor to start on its own. Therefore, we always have to look at each pregnancy case individually. The findings of scientific studies are one thing. But we also have to take into account the current and previous pregnancies of a woman... So always talk with your doctor about your pregnancy case and listen to their recommendations! We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your little ones!! ❤️

Hi there 😊, that is strange because normally, they would only recommend inductions if there are medical reasons to do so, for example, if there have been complications during your pregnancy. We would get a second opinion from another doctor! That said, always keep in mind that only YOU make the decisions... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi, I’m 36+3 days pregnant, throughout my whole pregnancy doctors said baby is on the smaller side so I might have to be induced, whoever I speak to In family they say don’t do it because it’s a painful procedure. A lot of women in family have been asked to get induced and they refused. And their babies were all fine. I am so confused, my husband wants to go with doctors advice but I want to have a natural birth please help me with making a decision thanks

Hi there 😘, it's so difficult to come up with good advice here! 😬 There are two questions which are important here: 1. What does "small baby" mean exactly? And 2. If baby is indeed very small, what has caused baby to not gain more weight? This ultimately leads to the question: Is there a medical reason for an induction? Unfortunately, these are questions that only a doctor can answer, who has looked into your case! Therefore, the only thing we can really recommend is getting a second opinion by another doctor! Ask these three questions so that you really end up knowing, if there is a medical reason for an induction or not! It's really the only thing you can do... We are sorry that we cannot be a better help here... We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi mam.. I am 40 weeks 1 day pregnant today my baby was not engaged till now.. I had strong & long contractions from last 2 days but no strong pains.. I have a doubt.. doctor induced the labour only for engaged baby ? pls reply me
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, although it would make things easier if baby is engaged, it does not mean that a woman cannot go into labor if baby is NOT engaged. Some babies only engage once labor started. Admittedly, it happens more in second-time moms, but it can absolutely also happen in first time moms. Unfortunately though, when it come to labor induction, it very much depends on the doctor if they are willing to induce labor when baby is not engaged or if they claim that it's not possible. However, labor induction is basically possible even if the baby is not engaged... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Then they injected several times something, stronger and shorter contractions but not progress, then they broked water too... and hell began. Plus they gave me 2 times epidural... after last epidural effect faded ... i was in agony... no progress dilating but constant pain, i didnt even able to breath... and then baby was distress too and emergency c was only option for me. So.. next time... oh i hope natural building up contractions and successful dilating.

Hi there 😘, we are really really sorry to hear this! In Austria and Germany, they have a saying that is a bit difficult to translate: "beat something out of somebody". In your case, we have the feeling that they wanted to "beat" that baby out of there at any price, instead of approaching this with caution and care, given the fact that they were dealing with human beings. And the end result is exactly what one would expect in such cases.... We are sorry that you had to go through all this.... ☹️☹️☹️

Hi there 😘, first of all, we are very sorry to hear that your first baby died... No parent should go through an experience like this.... ☹️☹️ Please don't be worried though! It does not mean that it will happen again! Also, please keep in mind that week 37 is still early days! At this point, your cervix is normally only getting soft. But you are unlikely to have any contractions that early. They normally only come later, around your due date. That said, there are a few ways to support your body at this stage: In this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs) we explain several tools to prepare the body for labor. Moreover, birth ball exercises can help prepare the body for labor (kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jVk4KZaciYmLs) On top of that, the right sitting position can also support the whole process (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWbYqZmoZb59lac) We really hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😊, please do not worry about this! First of all, please note that it is very very difficult to get exact measurements from ultrasound scans. They are just not super accurate. Moreover, as your doctor already said, some babies have bigger heads, other babies have smaller heads. So, just because your baby does not have an "average-sized" head, it does not mean that something is not right. Take a school class, for instance: not all children are average size. Some are taller, some are smaller. That's just how it is... So, don't be worried! All good! We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😊, please do not worry just yet! Your level is not EXTREMELY high at this point. But if your doctor believes that it is likely that there are gonna be complications, then there are ways to reduce the level. Unfortunately though, there are no natural ways to do so. Either they drain excess fluids from your uterus. Or they give you medications. But again, please do not worry right now! And they all gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby. That said, even with oligohydramnios, it would normally be required to look at other factors of the pregnancy as well to see, if an induction is medically required. I had normal delivery with my first baby and now doctors are going to induce me second time. Will it be faster or different?
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, there are two aspects involved here: one is the induction, the other one is your delivery. As for the delivery aspect (i.e. once you are in labor), there is a tendency for second deliveries to go faster and smoother because your body has gone through all of that once already. As for the induction (i.e. the processing of putting you into labor), it is not so clear if the second one is going to go faster or not. If your cervix is favorable at this point, it will certainly make things much easier, also in terms of the induction. So, it really depends on your cervix whether the second induction will manage to put you into labor faster this time or not... You will want it to be soft, and, if possible, effaced and at least a tiny-little bit dilated.. We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

I started labour naturally at 41+1 however it was taking so long they decided to add in induction drugs. The baby did not respond well to the drugs so they would stop it but then my contractions would slow right down. By the end of day 2 I was exhausted and so was the baby they were worried about the baby having an infection because my waters had been gone for so long. It ended in an emergency c-section. This time they are recommending an earlier induction at 39 weeks. I can only hope they know what they are doing. All I want is the safest deliver available given the circumstances.
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😘, we are really sorry to hear that! 🙈 You know, most of the times, there is a good reason why it takes longer. For example, if baby is not in a good position for labor, they can inject all the drugs they want - it won't change anything. And logically, the baby does not take it very well... The trick is to find the reason why it goes so slow and then do something about it. For example: help baby find a better position with the right positions. But don't worry! Just because it was like that last time doesn't mean it's gonna be the same again this time... In any case: we wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️
