Finns do log cabins like this.. well we use wood "pins" to bind all the logs together and insulate whit mosh. And weather proof the logs whit grave tar.. i did like this this 👍

american log houses are a perfect example of form over function . people seem to be obsessed with the big round logs with varying diameters even with all of the huge problems that are created. settling sealing no insulation dust collection exterior maintenance that if ignored can result in monumental problems . the newest ( actually not so new) european method is far superior in performance . Kiln dried dimensional lumber is laminated to the desired thickness , width and length . Then the boards / beams are run through a shaper that contours the top and bottom of the beams to create a good seal and an interlocking channel. The beams are stacked using the butt and pass method with the addition of interlocking joints . the insulation is placed on the outside of the house with wood fiber insulation panels that are T&G for air tightness . all seams are taped . furring strips are installed vertically evey 50 to 60 cm with long screws passing through the panels and into the log walls . a facade of siding in any configuration is attached to the furring strips . the space in between the strips creates an air channel that is vented top and bottom to relive any moisture build up . the house now is very close to a passive house standard . The facade protects the logs for the life of the house and any damaged boards can be replaced in a short period of time .

Great work, amazing craftsmanship but you guys need to learn some safety before someone gets killed. I admit I bend the rules sometimes with safety, but youd never catch me on a ladder with a massive log passing overhead nor have my hands under a log with a grinder. That cable snaps your hands would be done for.
