Hi! I don't know if you will read this but thank you! I love all of your videos about the ocean! I have to thank you though, I have a phobia against both the ocean and fish. This has made me nope out of pretty much any and every nature documentary about the ocean, especially the deep, for my entire life. You have somehow managed to not only make me calm enough ti sit through and learn something but also make me like it! I usually just start almost hyperventilating and cry whenever I see videos like this and yet here I am... willingly wathing and ENJOYING it! You have no idea how happy it makes me! I think it has to do with your voice, you are so calm and knowledable and I can hear the joy and wonder and happines when you narrate and it is just wonderful! Sorry for the rant I just wanted you to know that you've made a person who is terrified actually enjoy and partake of this information and just... Thank you and please keep up the good work!!! 💝
@NaturalWorldFacts3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Sofia! I’m so so glad to hear this, especially considering you were brave enough to face that phobia in the first place by clicking on the video. The oceans are definitely scary, deep and mysterious, but I think that gives them beauty as well! A sense of wonder that nothing else can make you feel. I like to think of the great unknown of the abyss not as something to be afraid of, but rather as something to aspire to explore! There’s so much out there yet to be discovered - so many wonderful creatures and incredible ecosystems. I see so many channels and movies out there that present the oceans, particularly the deep ocean, as a place of terror. And that does instil a fear in many people like yourself, but I think if we just open our eyes to how unique the oceans are (just like you’ve been able to do) then we can begin to appreciate it, and even fall in love with it. I can’t wait to share more videos with you, welcome to the channel!! Have a really lovely day :) drop me a comment anytime you like, this really made my day!! - Leo

I just wanted to pop in to your comments say thank you SO much for these videos! I just started going back to university classes, because I want to become a marine biologist. It's been my dream since I was very little, and I first saw documentaries like this about cetaceans and colossal squid. These videos are helping me immensely with my mental health as I struggle through, because I'm 35 and everything is a bit overwhelming as I am trying to do this so much later in life. When I'm feeling overwhelmed I put one of your videos on, and it not only helps me to calm down, but it also reminds me why I am doing all of this. I get a surge of purpose and a renewal of my childlike sense of wonder and am able to carry on. So again, thank you so much. These are so beautiful. (As an aside, anyone who sees my youtube page will see I'm an utter nerd for marine life, as the only videos I've ever uploaded were of spinner dolphins I had the privilege to see in Hawaii. They're rather badly filmed with my phone, unfortunately. But I still love to go back watch them to relive the moment.)

I'm so greatful for nature and the cosmos. I take my dogs on a hike each night with my flashlight in the Oregon woods here in Benton County, Corvallis, Oregon. Its the best form of medicine I've been doing during this last year. It helps to have this Ryobi rechargeable flashlight with 2 rechargeable batteries. It's the strongest light I've ever used and any critter I can see from over a football field away, especially with eye glow. I saw 2 bobcats the other day, it was nice they were a good distance away. It's crazy how much animal activity I see at the edge of town, I'll walk a lot at the top of kings blvd. (Timberhill- Chip Ross park natural area) it butts up to homes and apartments but then transitions to woods and I love how easy it is to get some little exploring, either day or night time. (Btw I showed my parents and brother the polar deep video last night, they were blown away with it's quality and your narration) I'm so happy I found your channel. Brilliant vid as usual!
@NaturalWorldFacts3 жыл бұрын

@christianv-h32783 жыл бұрын
@@NaturalWorldFacts Ah thanks, glad I could inspire such amazing content! It's always fascinating to look into the history of oceanography! By the way, something similar to the abyssus theory disproval happened in the paleontology world some time ago.. Like you see, the chalk deposits in Denmark that I work on, they represent the soft muddy seabed of a sea that covered Europe 70million years ago.. Now this "Chalk Sea" was about 300 metres deep, and for a century, it was thought that the seafloor in this Chalk Sea was too deep to support complex, large lifeforms. This was all changed by one guy (Manfred Kutscher), who in the seventies made several fossil discoveries which revealed that this Chalk seafloor was in fact rich with marine snails, crustaceans and sea urchins. Also, knew that this would happen, the algorithm is starting to treat this channel quite well - you've got like 140k subscribers! Here's to 1 million :D You deserve every one subscriber!

I can only imagine the excitement of the crew as they found the deepest point on earth and the creatures they discovered. It must’ve truly been amazing to unveil such an unknown world.

It's pretty interesting how it turned out to be partially correct that a lot of deep sea life is from another era

It certainly is!! Many of the theories and assumptions that people held about the depths prior to the voyage were shattered, but that one theory was surprisingly accurate - it’s fascinating stuff :)
