I’ve been up and up close with a bear and they literally open the pot , ate the food and put the lid back on when they finished🤣

I had a bear encounter, up in New Hampshire Tripoli Road. I woke up and saw some black fur through the opening of my tent he was only 6 feet away try and open my cooler scratched his claws down the side of it literally dragged the cooler down to the river. He went away, I cooked breakfast eggs bacon the 9 yards packed, all the food up brought it up to in my truck. I kept one little baggie of cookies with me I sat in my camping chair under the sun and was reading, corner of my eye the bear returns! walking straight for me! When He got to be just 6 feet for me I tucked my head between my knees and hid my head as best I could, And Prayed! he took the bag of cookies which was only three or four, walked away w baggy, he was literally next to me, almost touching me, according to my friend (watching from the tent10 feet away) from me. These are the black bear they’re usually not a Life threat. It’s still scary being face-to-face with one. 😰

Truth. I’m from Detroit and visited Glacier National Park. I was scared after I was “briefed” about camping, cooking and bears. I now live in Colorado. I’m getting one of those containers.

It´s really annoying to carry these bulky containers like the one in this video. A the better option is the "Sabre Frontiersman", fits much better into a backpack and is also certified.

Throw some donuts on the trail leading into your camp. They’ll eat them quickly and the sugar apparently gives them a tummy ache and they bolt.
