On the Koni peninsula, washed by the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk, there is the Olsky section of the reserve. The Olsky site is located only fifty kilometers from Magadan, but it can only be reached by sea. Its eastern border runs along impassable mountain ranges. The cordon of the reserve is located on Cape Plosky. Here, one of the largest rivers of the peninsula, the Khindzha, flows into the Sea of Okhotsk. Here all the rivers are spawning. Only pink salmon comes here to spawn. The Koni Peninsula is a fertile land for the brown bear. Generous nature offers a variety of delicacies. In the summer - only fish. Many birds nest on the steep cliffs of the peninsula. The most numerous here are slaty-backed gulls and kittiwakes. The Bering cormorant, the most common of the six cormorant species, also nests here. On the southern slopes there are colonies of puffins and puffins. Fifteen pairs of Steller's sea eagles nest on the coastal territory of the Olsky section of the reserve. The harsh nature of the Magadan region is unique. There are still many roads, passing through which you can become a witness of a unique show that can amaze even the most sophisticated spectators.
