Ha ha ! ..wonderful memory !! lol.. My Gran taught me how to chop kindling and lay an open fire as she had one in her kitchen. My Mum would have had kittens if she could have seen me with that hatchet.. but my Gran taught me well the safety aspects. We used have a toasting fork.. nothing tastes better than toast from an open fire !!
