Escape for a slow, unhurried and relaxing (mostly) nature walk around the beautiful grounds at Stirling University. Personally I have spent a lot of time here, as a child we lived on campus for a while and then later on as a student myself for many years. The nature - trees, birds, swans, ducks, flora & fauna and of course the water itself - has been a source of healing for me on many an occasion and I am sure I am not the only one.
Nature is more than just a pretty thing to look at. There is real power in the natural to heal through sound and senses. Being in nature also gives us a sense of our humanity and we feel our connectedness to the soil in a way that is obliterated by our usual lives surrounded and obsessed with other people - either on social media or in our towns and cities.
Let your mind enjoy the trees, birds and damselflies (NOT dragonflies as I repeatedly said to my very own annoyance!). But at least I know now that a damselfly is very like a dragonfly, only more delicate and wisplike.
This was filmed earlier this year (2024).
