Naturehike Cloud Up 2 UL 10D Golden Tent Erection & Review

I purchased the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 UL ultralight edition which has a 10D Nylon skin coated with silicone. I erected the tent out the garden to check it out and give it a review. I weighed it at 1100 grams and 1300 with the footprint or mat as naturehike call it. This is the 'golden' colour version which is white and yellow. This is a new lightweight tent I've purchased for hiking & backpacking for 2021.

This is an ideal ultralight backpacking tent which would serve well for 2 people at a squeeze or for a a comfortable 1 person. I ended up choosing this over the 3F UL Lanshan because I don't need to worry about taking extra poles as it's free standing. It also comes ready to use out of the bag and waterproof.

Great video and review mate 👍 I’ve got the ‘heavyweight’ version that comes in at 1.6kg (dark green) and I LOVE it! I do have a Lanshan 2 as well but I find the Cloud Up 2 a lot easier to put up and it’s a similar weight when you account for the poles. I’ll use my Cloud Up until it breaks then but another one! Ben

Good wee tents, used to have the 20D, good head room. Mine eventually went to tent heaven when the pole snapped in gale force winds on a camp, but still thought it was a decent tent👍

Wicked tent I have just got the dark green version it’s superb, light weight and excellent quality and well worth the money got mine off Alixpress for £90 all in with delivery when on deal at part of their 11th anniversary just over a week back. Nature Hike makes some superb tents highly recommended.

NICE ONE!!!! I brought one in army green about a month ago for my next trip, but have not yet put it up or even taken it out of the bag LOL I have been using the cloud up one the front vent has no vet but it did not bother me. Leaving the vents open really stops condensation never had a problem Great review .ATB Ana

Great review! One thing... The position for sleeping is the opposite. Head next to the door. That way you get much more head space and the pocket will be right on top. My only concern having slept like that is when it gets cold, the mesh freezes you thoughts... haha. They show make a half way mesh door as the walls

Ah yes I just led that way for the video I may have confused people there! It's more of a fair weather tent this one. They seem to be making a lot of mesh in new tents these days which keeps the weight down but it's no good in the cold.

I've got the heavy green one and I've been humping it all over the Antipodean beaches bush and rivers, And it's been punished hard. And it's still going strong. I was pleasantly surprised. So I bought the Naturehike chair. Camping like a king now.

Good video. I've just bought this tent and it arrived this weekend. I'm new to camping and Im a little worried that I should have gone for the heavier 20d version to help keep out the rain, and it also has a some more robust features such as plastic clips for the outer and more robust velcro, which I was expecting this to have. I'll have too see how it holds up, and if being a tad lighter is worth sacrificing those features.

I'm fully expecting this tent to be waterproof myself. If you're worried or have issues you can always treat it with nikwax or fabsil. Thanks for watching 🙂

No problem. I've actually been out in it twice now. The first time had lots of condensation but the second time nothing! It hasn't seen much rain yet but stick around and I'm sure it will soon!

I have this and use it with a polycro groundsheet which is like 30g instead of the one that came along at 200g. Great tent!

I just bought a 20D light green cloud up 3 off Amazon, I was abit annoyed that they advertised it as the 'upgraded' version but it has no vent or loops the 'guy out' on the middle of the side walls. I've had it up once as a test at the park, I like what I see and the colours not as bad as I thought. Still, can't wait to test it in the Highlands!

Do you still use this tent? I just took mine out for the first time the other day and enjoyed it a lot. Only gripe is the mesh walls seem to sag in, but I may add an additional guy line point to hold it out.

I don't like the colour of the outer cover- but It looks a good tent for one person - personally I go more for a 2-3 man tent because I like more room, but obviously if you are going for the lightest option then this is the tent for you.

They do this in quite a few colours but this was the only one in the super lightweight fabric. You could squeeze two people in but its more comfy for 1 👍

Yes it is the thickness of the material that makes it lighter. You'll notice on cheaper tents they use 210t which is heavier again 👍
