Hey! Thanks for the review! I'm thinking about buying this one, but have doubts regarding if it will fit into carry-on size for international flights. Some air companies across the world have limit of 55cm, some 50cm. When this pack is empty, what is the height from the bottom to the top of the frame? I mean the rigid part of the backpack which anyway can't be made smaller by not packing it full. Thanks!

Hey there, Thanks for watching! I’ll get the measuring tape out when I’m home next week. Give me a poke on @ashobrienoutdoors on Instagram if I forget! Ash

Just measured it there, the height is around 57cm so sadly probably wouldn’t do as hand luggage

@@ashobrienoutdoors I've actually managed to buy the pack and my measurement is 55cm. Thanks anyway!

It was nice to see someone that bought and used it. I was going to buy it a while ago but got something else instead. Would like to see a detailed review of your new PCT bag too.

Only just seeing this! It’s a decent bag especially for the price :) the Osprey was a far better fit for me that that’s what I’m bringing on the pct 😊

Good review, nice job! How tall are you? The sternum strap can’t be pulled higher on the side of the bottle holder… right?
@ashobrienoutdoors8 ай бұрын
Thanks :) I’m 5ft8. about the sternum strap I can’t remember but I’ll check when I’m next wearing it. Ash

Thanks for the review on this bag! Definitely looks great and an even greater price!

Thanks for watching :) I’ve been meaning to make a follow up review for this pack after using is for around 300km. I still think it’s a great pack for the price, some better features than my Osprey even but comfort wise for me I found anything above 15kg was too much in this pack and that my Osprey pack distributes the weight better to my hips. Still would recommend the nature hike for weekends or week longs but maybe not for anything bigger in my opinion :)

@@ashobrienoutdoors You're practically a mind-reader at this point. My girlfriend and I will be doing some world traveling starting next month and I've been researching heavily on bags. She settled on the Osprey Fairview 40 and I had gone the route of the Aer Travel Pack 3 but will not be switching also to Osprey Farpoint 40. Came across your video as I wanted to see what are the lightest bags out there in general. My current setup is 9.8kg. Also, we met in Brisbane, Aus and your channel has been a gem since we were looking at hiking/backpacking through more parts of Aus!

Terrific summary of your first impressions! You are a good bit smaller than most of the people who love the fit of this. Can I ask how tall you are

Thanks for watching :) I’ve done a follow up video to this pack as well, the link is in the description of this video. I am 5ft8 in height

@@ashobrienoutdoors Oh, yes, I do remember watching your later video some time ago. It seems like you are tall enough for the pack, but slimmer than it's designed for. It's funny, because direct-from-China clothing is often too small for Europeans and Americans. In any case, terrific reviews--many thanks!

Bought this and disappointed that it's not in any way a genuine 60L in size. Their own stated dimensions for the 60L multiply to 31L (I should have checked that), and the expansion bits are in no way adding another 30L when the main bit is full. I've measured it and filled it and it's nowhere near 60L (yes it's the 60L 1.2kg version). It's *much* smaller than another 60L pack I have, and is actually slightly smaller than a 40L pack I have.

I’m glad to see a review on this before spending money on a expensive pack that’s just about the same quality as this nature hike! I’m going to be going with this! For the price it won’t or can’t hurt! 🩵
