Kensei is pretty strong rn. Quick access to his UB, soft feints to a HA light and heavy. Superior block on dodge. Classic opener with his pommel strike, although it is a bit heavily relied on. Definitely a strong duelist. His team fight potential isn't terrible either, huge hit box on his dodge attack and side heavies. Has the HA to make trades. I doubt Kensei will get any sort of change anytime soon. Until he starts falling behind in the meta or his pick rate goes down, I believe he will go untouched for a bit. The only thing I could possibly see happening is giving him an in-chain bash, it would be a little weird but it would change his mix ups a lot. Or maybe make his dash forward light enhanced? Its very easy to react to, and would let him get into his UB mix quicker. Other than that he be chillin.

I played 1 match last night as Kensei. Breach, Defenders, the Wu Lin map. It may not have gone well, but I got to use the new execution and even slay three heroes back to back in front of the Commander. Also, per my greatest desire - as always - I, technically, never died. Nice.

Kensei changes I’d like to see: -Dodge forward light is enhanced (like Gryphon) -Side deflects make attacks unblockable (like Zhanhu) -Pommel strike accessible from any top heavy in chain.

Make the soft feint heavies undodgable and his crushing counter dodge a guarenteed gb from all sides or unblockable and make his forward dodge light anhanced just like gryphons. He has high damage maybe lowering some of it

@@HanseshFH so my enemy makes a wrong read dodges early on the top ub and i shouldnt get my side heavy? Happened often enough and u have enother reason to use the soft feints. Kensei got the single worst superior dodge besides the dodge forward gb counter no other option is guaranteed so its pretty useless outside of the dodge forward. The dodge forward light is pretty bad. If you fight a kensei and he dodges forward u can just stand there and leave ur guard at top blocks the top light and u can parry the dodge forward heavy. Kensei struggles from neutral because the only opener he has is top heavy soft feints. And the top heavy is still pretty slow so if you feint to side heavy u can be easily interrupted

Idk man I think kensei is fine, he's seeing a lot of high level play at the moment and he's versatile, the hitboxes on his side heavies have no business being as good as they are as they can hit your dodge a lot and his chain lights are also pretty powerful, I think he's a very solid hero though I would maybe give him a dodge light that superior blocks instead of a dodge heavy

@@HanseshFH where are his chain lights powerful? All are 500 ms the first and chain finisher lights have okay tracking thats it. Ich just want his superior dodge to work like zhanhus make it unblockable at maybe make it 20-18 damage. He has not really good hitboxes the heavies are just slow just like zhanhus pre speed buff with added soft feint. If you dodge early you get hit or so should it be, looking at warmonger and delayed dodge attacks. His damage is high yeah but his attacks are slow and easy to react.

@@robinrademacher7984 the slowness of his attacks is a plus not a minus, especially in high level play. Fast doesn't always equal good and having mixups into attacks that are quite slow gives him the ability to throw people off a lot, I main assassin's and more or less play off of deflects for most of my damage on people and kensei is one of the top heroes in the game that I struggle against especially if the person playing him knows how to use his heavies to catch me out, I genuinely don't think people realize how effective kensei actually is within the game meta

I find he's super fun to play, but he's fallen behind a fair bit especially in teamfights - I'd like him to have an enhanced dodge forward light - HA on natures wrath because why not? - HA chain heavies to help with team fights, maybe even on the lights honestly - Enhanced lights on chain - A soft feint bash on the chained top heavy to give him some sort of pressure during his mid chain in 1s - Superior block dodges to make his dodge attack unblockable and a - Hyper armor to start at 100ms and not 200ms, like why is this even a thing His mid chains right now do absolutley nothing for him in 1s or teamfights, top heavy soft feint into a 500ms unenhanced light, or some variation of a dodge is just not nearly enough pressure to make somebody have to do anything but block His opener bash is great and gets him to his finishers, and his unblockable finisher mixup is good too - the damage should probably be just 30 not 34 for it though Edit: "HA chain heavies to help with team fights, maybe even on the lights honestly" I can see this potentially being an issue if the bash is dodged, and then kensei's HA would beat whatever dodge attack was thrown, especially if HA was on the lights. So potenially no chain after a whiffed bash?

If you use the axe form you have low damage, but a potent bash and really ass hitboxes on the side heavies but he has a low recoverie on nearly every move so you can block the dodge attacks
