Naturnest Softshell Rooftop Tent - Fall and Winter Camping

I'm quite pleasantly surprised with the features and comfort of this softshell tent. To be honest I do prefer a hardshell tent as they require almost no setup time in comparison to this, but still, as features and comfort go, this is up there with the best. With ample room to spread out and even ENJOY a rainy day in, the Naturnest has everything you need for storage and ventilation. Plus it's incredibly quick and easy to install on your vehicle. I'm using the Malone Airflow 2 crossbars and it's handling perfectly. In this video I go through setup of the tent first, then the second part is installation. I just bought this RTT for my LX470. Your video seems to be the only one I've found on this particular model. I have yet to field test it but overall I think its great for the money. Set up/ tear down time was not really a concern of mine as i just wanted a roomy tent(I'm 6'4") and clamshells tend to be REALLY small. At just over 1k it absolutely demolishes its competition.

I just got the clamshell version. First time took 5 minutes. Imagine I can get that to 2 or 3 with practice. Seems worth the extra 200 bucks current price just for the setup convenience. Either way these nature nest are a great value

@-JMF916- I believe somewhere around 100lbs…shipping weight on the website is more but once you lift it you realize it’s not super heavy.

I just received this exact tent today. Got it for $823 shipped 😊. I bought it through Amazon and in the description it says it comes with a mattress and a condensation mat. My tent only came with mattress...... Does yours have the condensation mat? Maybe a mistake in description. Thanks for making the video! It's the only detailed video I've seen for this tent.

To be honest I don’t remember haha. I get such poor gas mileage with it on top that I took it off after the video and just haven’t had the time to take it out again, very sorry!

I'm not so sure this isn't better than the naturnest clamshell offering. If the fly on this ever gets damaged, just replace it. If the clamshell fly suffers the same damage, it's a much more difficult repair. It might end up trashing the tent.

Can't expect much without mud tires when you are in the mud. That is not a trailhawk problem... that is not having the right equipment for the right challenge.
