I made them as an overvieuw for each season. I restore the boat wich is now 50 years old for 6 years,every year an part,in winter, However every year in may we sail /or motoring for the summer. The plan is to end the restauration next winter,and make longer travels( retirement) first in the north than south direction.

How avarge speed you had this stormy day? Is she good sailor or motoring? Is feet to blue wather sailing ?
@guidouytterhaegen3 жыл бұрын
@@grzesiekmaek5707 This boats are very seaworthy,no noises of hull when sailing in heavy weather. The only weak point are the sliding doors,very comfy but when you are turn around( exeptional situation,but always possible in very heavy storms) i dont think they will be still in place... But ,you can always find an solution to secure them. However the big wheelhouse will always vulnerable to very big waves wich top over. The speed under sail are with these boats not spectacular,lets say max 5 knots and 3 upwind The finnkeel versions are little faster,especially upwind. Its after all an motorsailer,in the film there was an favorable backwind,currents in favour,and motoring,the average speed was 6/ 8 knots,witout motor 4/6 knots. I buy these boat for the ability without masts to explore all the channels also in the inlands. These boats are also very spacious,and you can steer in and out.

@@grzesiekmaek5707 This is an motorsailor,hull speed is max 7 knots,under sail max.speed 5 knots,without current,( 3 or 7 knots max average depending current) This boats are very seaworhty,however no real bleuwatercruisers, The sliding doors,makes them vulnerable in case off complete rollover.( wich make any other bleuwatercruiser helpless,but les vulnerable to wateringression) Also under sail the speed is 2to 4 knots less speed than similar sailcruisers,this deu to less sailaerea,less ballast,and depth. I choose this boat because off the non critical sailspecs,great comfort and the ability to use them later as an motoryacht to cruise the inland channels without masts.

Love your video, thinking about buying a 33 myself, any advice on what to check? Where was this video taken?
@guidouytterhaegen2 жыл бұрын
Take the full grp one if you dont love wood and be willing to put the neccesary effort in it to maintain it( if you find one in mint condition)and put some extensive effort( and money) when you choose one in poor condition.( like i did.....) If you choose the full grp,the main isseu are the teak decks,who are if they are the original ones are ALL leaking via the bungeholes. Also the hatches in the roofs are tending to be leaking. So or remove the teak,and after filling the holes off the sccrews paint it,or lay new gleud teakdecks( expensive) If you want to sail( 33 are motor/sailors)) choose the finnkeel model instead off the longkeel ones,they sail much better. Off course then your draught will be deeper,so if you want to explore also without masts the inlandchannels( france,netherlands) then you are better with the shallow long keel.... Nauticats are very sturdy well build boats,very spacious. One other thing to consider because off theyr specs they tend to roll more than classicsailboats ( while motoring) The cabinhouse and two helmstations are also very comfy for all weather situations. The later versions have also two(2!) schowers +toilets! Like with all boats an examination off the state off all parts( hull,motor,pumps etc ) is best performed by an surveyor. The video wind was taken with 30 knots of wind between dieppe and boulogne s mer normandy france,with strong currents,and shoals ......

@@guidouytterhaegen I know she is not designed for speed, I like the fact she designed to handle bad weather compare to other similar sized yacht's, I all so like the design, its brilliant, closed wheel house and interior/cabin's. Have you tried/thought about crossing the atlantic with it?

Nice vid! How rough is the sea condition? You said you have concerns about sliding doors. Is there a way to improve the way the lock in?
@guidouytterhaegen2 жыл бұрын
Well,for start you can mount some kind off guidingslabs alonside the floorbeam in wich the doorwheels run. Now,when the doorwheels brake,the underside off the doors are free to go where they want....i had once that the door went out the guiding( in my case because i can lift my doors out ) and i had to put them back in...sitting on the handrail....not advisible. So i planned to have two guidings( one for each side) wich i can mount in case of very bad weather. Ideally you need two more above the doors,wich are hold of two profiles running in an u schaped form in the wooden doorbeam. In my case these are made off some kind off plastic( same material off brown blocks still availeble) If these brakes...same situation as below...,so i planned to replce them with stronger material and maybe two removable guidings above to .( mounted in case off bad weather) I will use rampa screw nuts in the wooden guiding ,so i can remove and place them when needed.

Ps the waves are aprox 2/4 meters,wind from 25 to 32 knots,but along the shore of normandie france,where currents and shoals make things ..well lets say unpleasant.i have the advantage that it was not against the winddirection......

Oh yes,i can assure you that in these conditions on the boat the doorhole was the only place to sit . Standing up in the wheelhouse without fixing your position with two hands is impossible. I was sitting and filming ,it costed me my camera,because it became wet and it was an normal compact one....... I was also focused on what lies ahead( sometimes big waves above sandbanks) and believe me you want be prepared for the hit !
