I havn't watch it all so I don't know if someone has answered you this, but the reason for the change in thruster speed is because om simulated gravity. So when you leave a planet, the gravity causes a drag, and when you have come half way the gravity will give you a "push" so to speak.

Aaaaand I just heard someone explain it to you 1 min later haha.. oh well..

@@toxic7829 Yeah, hehe. The extra speed makes coming back from the shattered planet area (like, anywhere past the edge of the solar system) more tricky since you'll have extra speed!

i thought you were speedrunning from scracth lol, i wonder how fast people would do it

That's actually a really interesting question and would make for a cool race idea. Would people go early with lower quality weapons and production and slower speed? Or would people wait to get more/better tech and depart later on, hoping that their better speed to the shattered planet would compensate? It's too bad that there wouldn't be a lot of replay-ability in this sort of race, and would be QUITE the time investment.

Any chance you'd ever just make a normal informal play through, talk about what you're doing, etc?

I'm not sure. I DO want to get all of the achievements in Space Age (not necessarily in a speedrun context), but I also want to be focusing my energy on 100% speedrunning for 2.0 vanilla. There's a lot to do to get ready for runs, and I want to start runs for vanilla 100% around February.

@@thedoh. You gotta do what's fun for you, but you have made a couple non-speedrun vids, like the mod tutorial, and I really like the way you explain/discuss stuff.
