This is awesome. Alot of people can afford for food, and basic care on horses, and other animals., But getting them " fixed" often is very expensive. So sadly they don't. I think there needs to be more low/ no cost for that. I work , and wasent concidered " low income enough..but the vet was really cool. He asked me how much are your bills? ( I dog sat a large mutt puppy..owner disappeared. Smh . Awesome vet! He's not going to charge me for the neuter, only his shots. I have to volunteer 1 day a week cleaning kennels for a month.

I helped a lot of animals, also horses, but in the Netehrlands we don't have octoins and animals who are in the slaughetrstation never comes out alive, even if there standing no hman meat on them, they will be killed but not for humans to eat. I'm so glad you filmed this. It reflects what donations can do and the incredible volunteers efforts to help. You may not realize but yesterday was an indigenous day here remembering the land taken from a people we shouldn't squander. The University students getting their rotation while helping is the way to go. We do that here with our university program for both livestock and humans. You might want to consider for those large auctions and reassessment days. You still have the bunk house. Thanks for sharing.

The Navahos have matured since kicked out of the Chiricawa Apache tribe along with their beautiful horses centuries ago. Is good to see these knowledgeable, talented & skilled volunteers helping/paying it forward in a quality way for these nations & their animals . On another note, there is a trick the Mexicans use to help plants to grow🪴 in dry land, they take plastic liter bottles, put holes along bottom & sides, & bury just so the cap is above ground alongside chosen plants for whatever purpose. The water drips slow enough so they only need refilled once a month or so. Then they cover the top with branches to help hold the moisture. Is a task, but apparently it works, a man made drip system... Enjoyed seeing this, thank you.

I love to see the vet students learning in th he field. Veterinary Medicine has evolved so much over the past 20 years, now we have specialists for dentistry, anesthesiology, etc. There are great pros and cons to this. One of the biggest cons is that the cost of specialized care is high, and people with low income just have no way to afford the expert care. The grants provided by Horse Plus and other nonprofit organizations are essential to so many. Thank you Horse Plus, and all who help!

Listening to Jack Pitts talk about how much he got out of the experience of working on the Navajo nation with the Navajo people, really put a tear in my eye. Volunteerism is something that I've always strived to be a part of. Horses were a huge part of my life for about 10 years when my daughter was riding. Unfortunately, I had a spine/cord injury about 10 years ago (towards the end of my daughter's riding) that prevents me from doing so nowadays. If there were ever a cause that I'd love to be a part of, it would be one like this. I am pretty much bed-ridden these days. Upright for about 30-60 minutes a few times a day, otherwise I'm lying on my right side all the time. I paint little watercolor cards to give me something to do when upright, but now that I've re-found this channel, I now have a bunch of videos to catch up on. God bless the people who were out here helping these people and their animals and God bless HPHS for their mission to improve animals' (horses) lives across the US and the world. Heather🇨🇦

I am so very impressed by the vet students at the 20+ minute mark talking about what they got out of the program, what they will take with them, etc. I also am so thrilled that these valued members of your country... the Navajo people... are being treated well and their animals are being treated well. The Navajo people are lovely. We have a lot of First Nation people in Canada and I've always loved sitting and chit chatting with the elders as they have so much knowledge to share and stories to tell. Well done HPHS. This was a great grant to have been provided. Hopefully it is one you can continue to offer in years to come. Heather🇨🇦

This just might be my very favorite video that you all have done. This is what it's all about. Expanding, sharing, teaching, growing. Simply fantastic!
