You know what i think? They should bring stormy weather back in the game... it was there in alpha and beta but got removed cause everyone was complaining about it... but i found it interesting and made the game have more variety.

This update made 70-80 of my rare wood ships useless, but to be honest I like the new changes. The speed on the heavy wood might need some tuning, but lets see. I think this is going to be good for the game. I just hope they 10x the price for the flags :)

I honestly think the speed nerf is one of their better updates so far. Nice to see they're trying to balance the game.

I am rather excited to play with the new combat systems in place surrounding ship speed and handling. What was more in the lines of arcade-like gameplay has turned into something a bit more intense, as a single wrong move could spell disaster. Even on the PvE server, there is still risk, as the AI can get extremely bold and board you with even a few more crew than you. Not being able to rip around in Lineships is also a noticeable change as that is what I normally use. Now my Le Bucentaure barely goes past 8 knots, and I am not too sure how I feel about a slow ship going even slower now.

I like the reclassification of the conny but the Speer changes make 90% of my current navy useless as they are all medium in specs of woodtype. Which doesnt make sence to use anymore as you showed :/

Yes, I hope that they make some minor changes like making the medium builds viable for some situations. So many people are in the same situation as you! Teak at the very least should be looked at because of all the Teak/Teak or LO/Teak ships that are out there.

On the upside, rarewopd ships arent so fast now. Downsides is that the ships feel too slow now. Not saying this update is bad, but all ships should be sped up a tiny bit. Made before but the Constitution has a speed of 13 knots, with live oak white oak, historically. Endy too. Basically, 5th-4th rates could go 14 knots historically. 3rd and 2nd could go 11-12 at most hitorically.

Those top speeds were historically recorded in strong weather, and the weather in naval action looks moderate based off the swell. Now ship speed suits the environment more and handling is better in combat, open world speed is annoying but will hopefully be raised

The developers have already announced that the in-battle speeds will likely stay the same but open world speeds will get a slight buff on Monday.

Great patch. Ridiculously fast third rates was the single worst problem and has been rectified, finally. It has also, perhaps inadvertently, reduced the OPness of rare woods which was also needed. The last turning patch was initially a disaster but has also now been fixed. The game is now playable again. Not all good news though: Trolling with the cheap conquest flags has already started, they need to be more expensive. The new upgrades are stackable which will cause balance problems such as crazy turning and penetration.

I haven't yet decided whether I like or hate the speed-nerfs in the context of combat. But having had to make some really long trips this weekend, I absolutely abhor the effect on open-world travel and I eagerly await the compensating fix to make that aspect of the game more bearable again.

wait wait 5th rates going 20 knots you do knot there is a hard cap of 18 knots right and getting a 2nd rate to go 16 knots would make it so easy to kill bc it has barely any side thickness and barely any HP the thats why making a ship fast get balanced out with it being really easy to kill when you get any hits in on it

I like the ships role and rate changes but I HATE the wood changes. After a forced leave of absence I come back to see my fleet comprised of woods that no longer have an effective place. It leaves me wondering if it's worth coming back at all. All I hear is the NA population is garbage.. It saddens me as I love the ships and the game but this drastic of a change, and limited people to play with, makes me wonder if it's time to put it down altogether.

for a heavy build is better max thicness or max HP? Live Oak-Teak vs. Locust-Sabicu

I would choose LO/Teak and go with thickness for 90% of ships. The only time that thickness doesn’t really matter and you can use Locust/Sabicu would be on shallow water port battle Privateers, for example.

7.24 we got the problem with the flag Cause a alt player from french did a clan with a closely Same name like oures. So he plant the döag and did a war betwen pure nation and the other and we need to talk from nation to nation. But that is a bad Feature

I brought some friends over to review this game . This game will have to be simplified in order to make more sells . And sells build businesses this game is horrible to sell to public . And if I was in charge of this game Games sell being simple .

It's not, some salty sore losers will always say that, think of it as collectible ships or ships to give you a boost at the start of the game, like IL-2 has with planes.

If you don't have to get to something by yourself, by skill, and you just buy something that is one of the strongest options in the game - that is the purest pay to win. Maybe this explains such a low popularity of the title and such laborious work on it. The game has those 500 players and has stayed that way for a long time.
