I am non Indian, American fan of Indian films (all languages) I am so excited for this to come out. Such a great collection of artists. As an audience member, I prefer watching movies in the theater with other people. For Indian films especially, as getting a primarily Indian audience reaction also helps me understand things I may miss. However, I often miss movies in theaters because they generally have short runs where I live (Minneapolis) so having them also release on OTT is so helpful.

Mani Ratnam was trying to make Ponniyin Selvan from 1994 itself. At the time a film couldn't get that kind of budget. Now it can because Rajamouli has enabled it with the success of Baahubali. I think MR was always inspired to make it. Now Rajamouli has enabled it.

I don't understand why you people are obsessed with this ott vs theatre, they are two different things. Ott is all about convenience of watching content at your home whereas theatre is about experiencing a film on a big screen, if someone wants to watch a film on a big screen, they will go ahead and watch it irrespective of whether it is coming on ott or tv in some days I wonder why you people don't talk about ott vs tv, which according to me is a valid comparison. And stop promoting these long stories, a lot of filmmakers are just dragging the content in the name of long stories and ruining the experience.
