I used to live Navarre. Ive fished on the pier many times. My friend Andrew Jackson amd Chris Foushee fish on that pier still all the time. I caught a squid off that pier

A lot of people return to the pier with your type of memories . Some were here in their 20s and come back in their 60s. 😎

@@RandallMeredith I lived down there from Oct 2001- Jan 05. Hurricane Ivan deatroyed the pier and alot of the town. Now I reside outside of Ft Knox KY/Louisville Area

Hi, Randy, I know you do not remember me, I was staying at Navarre beach and met you at the elevators in the condo next to the pier. I could not believe I actually met you and I know I am no one to you, but watching your videos has been wonderful for me to get a grasp on where I was going to be staying when I arrived. I was there for two weeks beginning April 27th. I wanted you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and found the beach to be pristine. I met up with an old friend of mine from 52 years ago and we had a lot of laughs about when we were crazy young girls going to the Jersey shore. I had not seen her in 13 years, so it was time for us to get together. I love your beaches, as I said, but I also loved the little zoo and I went to visit with Sweet Pea too. I now know why you live there.

So I’ve been going to Panama City beach pier for fishing and now I’m looking here would anyone be able to compare? It seems very overcrowded here

It is overcrowded during the Summer season. It is fine now.

When the Spanish are really big and the Kings are kinda small, what is a tell tell way to know the difference? Because that last fish looked like a Spanish to me, but looked too big to not be a King. Northern guy here that is blessed to come down once or twice a year.

You are correct the last fish was a large Spanish. The lateral line on a King Mackerel drops sharply near the first dorsal fin. On a Spanish Mackerel, this line slopes down much more evenly. The first dorsal fin on a King Mackerel is lightly-colored across its length. On a Spanish Mackerel, the front end of the first dorsal is distinctively black.

Was that Bama Beach Bum holding that cobia? He was actually out there today bright and early this morning. Not much action this morning besides a couple of Spanish run but I heard it picked up around 12ish or 1ish with several kings caught. 👍🏽

Jon had to cut my response short so this is a continuation of what I was going to say. There were three Kings caught this afternoon . The largest one was twice taken by flipper but the King was retrieved without any damage. There was also a Mahi-Mahi caught but it dropped off as they were pulling it up to the rail, bummer.

Navarre Newspaper man I knew I should’ve stayed longer. I left right at noon and the wind was picking up. Clouds started to come in and I bet the wind changed direction too. I had a feeling but oh well there’s always next time 👍🏽
